It’s easy and fun to learn with Val the Violin! Val explains how, the videos show how, and the screens have the songs. Learn how to tune your violin and read music notation. Learn many fun songs that you and your friends can sing along with!
Research has proven that children who play an instrument do better in school, make friends more easily, are more creative, learn self-discipline and gain self-confidence. In eMedia’s My Violin, an animated character named Val the Violin leads kids through lessons by Sabina Skalar.
My Violin covers the basics, such as tuning your violin and playing notes, and moves on to reading music, playing songs, and much more. An animated fingerboard shows you where to put your fingers as the live recorded audio plays. The revolutionary Finger Tracker listens to your playing and shows you whether your fingers are on the right spot. With MIDI tracks, the speed of the music can be adjusted so you can learn at your own pace. Special features such as an automatic tuner, metronome, and digital recorder are all included.

Animated Fingerboard
The animated fingerboard shows fingerings as the music plays so kids can easily follow along. Double-clicking on any note will also show them where to put their fingers.
Animated Finger Tracker
Finger Tracker listens to your child’s playing and shows them whether their fingers are in the right place on the fingerboard. A great tool for helping them learn and remember notes!
Automatic Tuner
Using either the computer’s built-in microphone or an external one, your child can get tuned up quickly and easily with the built-in interactive tuner. They can just line up the arrow with the right string and be in tune!
Full-motion videos
The lessons are easy to follow with our large-format videos, featuring split-screens and close-ups that guide kids through songs and playing techniques.
Metronome
Kids can set their own tempo and get audio and/or visual cues for staying on beat so they can play in time with the music.
