A dedicated preamp (such as Fender's acclaimed TBP-1 Tube Bass Preamp) sends a signal to the Fender MB-1200, which amplifies it efficiently and sends it to a variety of speaker cabinet configurations, with tight focus and seemingly endless headroom.
