The Hummingbird led the way for an entire family of square shoulder models, and the body style became so popular that it was the only dreadnought shape offered by Gibson in the 1970s. The Hummingbird continues today as the leader of Gibson's prestigous square shoulder line, which ranges from the fancier Dove to the affordable Songwriter series and includes historic signature models.
