You may not have heard of the Wah Rocker, but you've definitely heard it. A secret weapon of countless pros, the WR-2 has been smuggled back from Japan for years by savvy touring musicians looking for the ultimate funk tone. Subsequently, the WR-2 has appeared on recordings by Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Salas, TM Stevens, Sass Jordan, David Torn, Bill Laswell, and Powerman 5000 to name a few. Now available to the masses, the WR-2 is the perfect effect for musicians looking to add a little "special sauce" to their sound.
Nicknamed the "Duck Box" for its unmistakable mid-range quack, the Wah Rocker is the most uniquely voiced envelope filter since the classic Mutron III. Variable Threshold (determines strength of effect) and Decay (determines the speed of the effect) controls allow the user to create a wide variety of auto-wah effects. High Threshold settings yield synth-like filter sweeps while lower ones produce throaty tones reminiscent of a half-cocked wah pedal. The WR-2's band-pass filtering makes it ideal for use with Electric Guitar and Keyboards. However, many Bass players use it with a dry signal mixed in for added low-end beef.
