PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Hear Back is perfect for onstage or in the studio. With this Personal Monitor Mixer System, each performer is assured a perfect mix with every performance. With fast and easy set up, Hear Back offers expandable and inexpensive solutions to control your mix. With the use of wired or wireless ear monitors, you can achieve better sound quality at much lower volumes. Even with loudspeakers, a superior monitor mix leads to a quieter mix onstage, allowing the engineer to create a better front of house mix.

A basic Hear Back system consists of a Hub and personal Mixers connected using standard CAT5E cables. A single Hub supplies signal and power to a maximum of eight Mixers. That’s one for you and everybody in the band. If that’s not enough, the Hubs can be daisy-chained using the HearBus In and Out for virtually unlimited system size. The Hear Back Hub can accept analog input signals from audio mixers, auxiliary, matrix, monitor, and/or direct outputs.

The ADAT input can come from digital audio workstations, digital recorders, or digital mixers. For front of house or remotely located digital mixers, we also have the Extreme Extender ADAT In/Out that converts ADAT optical, which has very limited distance, to the HearBus for transmission of up to 500 feet.

Hear Technologies' solution, Hear Back, has several key advantages:
Virtually unlimited system size

Very attractive pricing

Excellent audio fidelity

Built-in DSP Limiter

Very long digital lines possible without loss of audio quality

Audio inputs ADAT, analog, and the HearBus are switch selectable from the front panel.

Local control of up to ten channels of audio (8 inputs plus a stereo Aux input) Master Volume (controls the level to the headphones, line outs and the Aux input to the line outputs)

Built-in DSP Limiter (designed as a “brick wall” limiter for hearing protection and to protect monitor wedges from overload)

Headphone amplifier fault indicator in case of over temperature, or a short, the red LED comes on to alert the user something is a problem.

A second visual trouble shooting aid for the user is the Bus status indicator

Link Indicators – Whenever two pairs of mono inputs are linked for stereo operation the link LED is illuminated

Standard CAT5E power and signal Connection, cost effective, simple, non-obtrusive way to connect eight channels of audio. The Cable is held in place with a “built-in cable strain relief”

Balanced Line-Outs, Mono/Stereo

Stereo AUX In

Built-in Mic Stand Mount may be mounted to a standard mic stand or clipped onto a stand extension bar or clip

High Power – Low Distortion Headphone Amplifiers

One of the industry's most powerful headphone amplifiers

Use in Studios
The Hear Back is a very cost effective solution for recording studios. The mixers are simple to use with one of the industries most powerful headphone amplifiers.

Hear Back gives the talent control over their cue mix allowing them to get exactly the mix they want while the engineer spends time engineering the session. The Hear Back has been installed in many professional studios in America, Australia and Germany.

Hear Back Personal Monitor Mixer Benefits:
- Powerful Headphone amplifiers
- Stereo mix - plus six “more me” channels
- Relieves engineer from cue mix responsibilities
- Talent can easily and quickly get a perfect mix
- Auxiliary input for local click track, drum machine, and effects
- Reduced cost with excellent performance and quality
- Link switch permits mono channels (3/4, 5/6 and 7/8) to operate as stereo pairs
- Hub input selector switch for ADAT? optical, Analog and Hear Bus?
- Built-in mic stand adapter
- Simple wiring with standard CAT5E cables
- Works with our ADAT Extreme Extenders which permits 8 channels of 24 bit, 48 KHz ADAT audio to be sent 560 feet without loss of quality

Benefits of Hear Back in Houses of Worship
With the proliferation of praise bands using electric instruments, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to control the mix in the congregation largely due to excessive stage volumes. An effective solution is in-ear monitors, personal monitor mixers, line direct instrument amplifiers (such as a Line 6 POD, Johnson J-Station, and Direct Box’s), and enclosed acoustic drums or electronic drum kits. Now virtually all stage volume is eliminated, permitting the FOH engineer freedom to mix great sounding audio for the FOH as well as recording.

For example, if the guitar player (I love to pick on these guys) plays at 120 dB SPL and the desired FOH is 90 dB SPL – Houston we’ve got a problem!

What typically happens is the guitar’s level gets reduced or removed from the mix causing a very unbalanced recording, while contaminating the FOH mix.

The Hear Back changes the way monitor mixing is accomplished on stage or auditorium; as well as, in the studio. Imagine getting your mix exactly the way you want it!

With the Hear Back, you save time and get your sound just right, the first time.

Personal Monitor Mixer/In-Ear Monitor Benefits:
- No Stage Monitor back wash in the seating area
- Reduces front of house (FOH) volume
- Eliminates signal time alignment problem that produces comb filter affects
- Lower overall stage volume
- Relieves the FOH engineer from monitor mix responsibilities
- Floor space is freed up
- Decreases feedback potential
- Replaces a separate Monitor Mixer and volunteer
- Improved recordings
- Reduced equipment cost (no monitors, amps, or equalizers)
