The Drums

Roland knew this when they built the TD4S kit around a mesh V-Pad in the snare position, where nuanced technique and organic feel are the most important. This two-zone snare trigger with a 10" diameter and separate head and rim trigger zones allows you to differentiate center snare hits from rim sounds for a more realistic playing experience. Not only does the mesh snare trigger feel as expressive as a real snare, but it eliminates the fatigue caused by vibration-inducing rubber snare triggers. Practice all night without waking the neighbors or cramping up!

The Cymbals

Roland outfitted the TD4S kit with their fully round, free-swinging CY-8 cymbal triggers that feel like...well, cymbals! These cymbal triggers are 12" in diameter and swing like real cymbals because they mount like real cymbals, allowing them to react naturally to your playing. The dual-zone design allows for separate top and edge sounds, so all your dynamic accent work is transmitted to the V-Compact's central brain, and then out to your headphones. There's even a smaller CY-5 in the hi-hat position so that every single “chick” is heard accurately and expressively.

From the 25 distinct kits assembled from 125 high definition sounds to the addition of reverb, EQ and compression and the ability to virtually muffle or tune the kick, snare and toms, you've got an endless variety of customizable options. Want to play birch shells in a huge concert hall with an extra-boomy kick? No problem. Seconds later you could be rockin' a synth-pop kit with a scooped out low-end. With the TD4, you'll never find yourself in a situation where you don't have the sound you need.
