    The dreadnought body style was created in the 1920's to meet the demand for a louder, more powerful sounding guitar. The dreadnought has been the most popular and widely recognized acoustic guitar shape ever since.

    The dreadnought's broad top and deep body create a large resonant chamber that emphasizes bass response and provides a great deal of volume. This design excels in ensemble playing and is heavily favored by flat pick players.
