Designed by the same team the produced Mackie’s best-selling compact active loudspeakers, the TH18S delivers chest-thumping lows with amazing precision. A ported bass reflex design produces tight low end. An all-new, lightweight, ultra-efficient Class D power amplifier delivers 500 watts RMS power, with far less waste heat produced versus competing designs. This makes the sub extremely lightweight and portable, without compromising the power and performance that you need.
Protection Without the Price Tag
Mackie knows that when you want a subwoofer, it’s so everyone in the room can feel your music. We also know that pushing most subs to their limits for extended periods of time can stress them out – not to mention the ears of your audience members. That’s why we’ve added active, corrective, and protective circuitry to the TH18S to keep them performing at their best, gig after gig. The efficient Class D amplifier design runs cooler, even when the music is pumping. A transparent compression circuit protects your sub when you occasionally run into clipping, without fear of thermal damage. If things do get too hot out there, thermal sensors shut down the amp section until it’s cool enough to resume safe operation. Finally, an over-excursion filter protects the 18” woofer from bottoming-out when you are really bumping. No need for bodyguards here, the TH18S has your back.

Together, you have a complete (and completely affordable) “plug and play” active system that is ideal for small club, DJ, or rehearsal applications. There is a pole mount on the TH-18s that allows you to mount the TH15A directly above the sub and a built-in Stereo High-Pass out on the TH-18s ensures it will work perfectly with the TH-15A, letting each loudspeaker do what it does best.
