Product Description

The Taylor 510L9 is a short-scale version of Taylor's premium mahogany dreadnought. Taylor's short scale acoustics are absolutely incredible and inspiring. Their special design (just 5/8 in. shorter than standard instruments) results in instruments with a lower string tension and closer fret spacing -- it's a whole new experience. Its tone and playability seem to achieve new heights, thanks to a scale length that's 5/8 of an inch shorter than a standard model. Cases are included with all short-scale models.

Woods
A mahogany/Engelmann spruce pairing yields a wonderfully refined tone: bright, crisp, clear, and responsive to the touch.

Dreadnought Body
A traditional shape refined, we combine classic dreadnought volume and bass response with the definitive Taylor sound: clear trebles and an open, airy midrange that Bob Taylor's signature design accentuates. Recent re-voicing turns up the bass and volume even more. Dreadnoughts respond especially well to flatpicking or light-to-heavy strumming.

Abalone Snowflake Inlays
Abalone snowflakes provide an elegant, subtle flare to the 500 Series-L9 models.

Gloss Finish
The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. Available in natural finish.
