Taylor 514ce 2012 Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Case Product Description

Singer-songwriters are often drawn to our 500 Series, of which the Taylor 514ce 2012 is part of, because mahogany yields its inspiring tone easily, with a breathy midrange and a wonderful balance of warmth, clarity and complexity. Taylor's larger body shapes (Grand Symphony and Dreadnought models) feature tops of solid Sitka spruce, while the Grand Auditorium and Grand Concert models sport Western Red Cedar tops. The refined appointment package features a laser-engraved Deco Diamond inlay scheme, faux tortoise shell binding, and a dark body stain that honors mahogany's enduring heritage.

    The Taylor Grand Auditorium Body

Taylor's 514ce 2012 Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The 514ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar is a strong finger-picking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming.

    Electronics: Taylor Expression System

Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Expression System in the Taylor 514ce 2012 Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Mr. Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.

    Woods

Less dense than a spruce top, cedar's warmer, more blossoming sound resonates with smooth overtones. Coupled with mahogany, it responds well to the subtle nuances of the player.

    Gloss Finish

The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra-violet cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.
