It's big. And if you think you know the Taylor sound, you're in for a big surprise. Meet the all-new Grand Symphony, an original body shape developed by Bob Taylor. Its big voice is bold and new, and unlike any other Taylor. The GS Series features four wood combinations, each with the same visual appointments -- and all for around the same price. Try each one and find your big tone.
Acoustic RootsPure acoustic styling is identical on all GS Series models. Taylor changes only the wood combinations, creating four new and unique tones.
A Little Equals a LotSmall changes go a long way. A higher, wider waist and a rounder lower bout add up to a big difference in tone.
Another Taylor FlavorDeep, piano-like bass, rich mids and clear, balanced highs. And plenty of volume. This is the new GS.
It's About ToneAll four models sell for about the same price. Try each one and let tone be your guide.
Grand Symphony ShapeThough you might see similarities to a Grand Auditorium, the GS is unique in both sound and shape. Significant changes in its geometry yield a deeper, more piano-like bass. A wider lower bout and higher, wider waist return ample volume and low-end sustain, in symphony with fuller mids and balanced highs.
Gloss FinishThe finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.
Mahogany/CedarThe Tropical American mahogany/Western Red cedar combination is a true powerhouse. It's one of Taylor's favorites, and a natural choice to be among the inaugural models in the GS Series. Like all GS models, it has "pure acoustic" detailing: abalone micro dot inlays, Ivoroid binding, abalone rosette, and rosewood peghead veneer.
Top: Western Red cedar
Back & sides: Tropical American mahogany
Maple/SpruceYou'll detect distinct tonal differences as you move from model to model within the GS Series. The Big Leaf maple/Sitka spruce combination is stunning from first glance, and clear and articulate from first listen. If you thought you knew the maple guitar sound, think again.
Top: Sitka spruce
Back & sides: Big Leaf maple
Rosewood/CedarIndian rosewood and Western Red cedar is a pairing that is traditionally among Taylor's best-selling models. The softness of cedar will yield subtle differences in tone when compared to the rosewood/spruce combination.
Top: Western Red cedar
Back & sides: Indian rosewood
Rosewood/SpruceFor many guitar enthusiasts, Indian rosewood is the definitive tonewood. Paired with a Sitka spruce top, it's a traditional combination that sings in the GS body shape. Taylor expects this to be the "go-to" GS model for many players.

Back & sides: Indian rosewood
