Style of Music: ALL STYLES from Metal to POP to Regae, to Country, done it all!

"I still can't believe why AKAI would discontinue such beautiful pieces of art like the DPS24 and DPS24MKII, truly these machines"

Sound:

This is the best complete recording Studio on the planet, all you need is a pair of good studio speakers, an amp and a Mic, and that's it. The Akai DPS24 does all the rest! I don't know for the life of me why Akai would discontinue both the DPS24 and the DPS24MKII. I own the DPS24 and there's no way I will ever sell it. It took me 2 days to fully understand the machine with the help of the tutorial Video made by the guy's at www.wfstudios.net it's called Straightline Video Tutorial for the AKAI DPS24. Thank's guy's for all your effort producing this great tutorial. Like I say, I will take my DPS24 to my grave and never part with it. It's the Best :) from a proud owner of the DPS24

OK, the DPS 24 is just like a computer, it doesn't like to be abused. The worst experience I had was when the DPS was writing in the background when my power went off, our whole neighbourhood got blacked out for about 6 Hours, When the power came back on. I noticed the project I was working on was listed in the menu but all the project files were gone. To me this wasn't a major catastrophe, because I have two 80 GIG Drives as backup, I just took out the bottom panel, elevated the desk 4 Inches and unplugged the CD/Burner and placed a second 80GIG Drive and simply fired up the machine and copied the project from one HDD to the other and then re-plugged the CD-Burned back up and thats it!

In all honesty I never ever had to ask for any support on my DPS24

The Wow Factor:

The DPS24 feels like driving an old 24 track reel to reel recorder, it has that ancient feel with all the mod-cons. this is what made up my mind to buy it. it's so simple to use, even my 12YO is now starting to record his own demos and of high digital quality as well .

Overall:

Let's just say this! I have tried many other options and many other machines on offer but found the DPS24 to be the machine that say's (I KNOW I CAN) Where all the others say I think I can. :)
