"AKG K240 Headphones best says Broadcaster"
Feature:
Long, sturdy, shielded cord with a quality 1/4 inch plug that can be easily replaced(either plug or cord).I use a large-diameter,fairly loose elastic band to keep them in-place when I need them to be more enclosed type of phones.
Quality:
If they could "grab" your head a little more,I would have given these a "9 or 10",but their comfort is part of their allure & such small trade-offs cannot be faulted.
Value:
I would beleive that they are worth every bit of cost.I am fortunate that my colleagues thought enough of both your headphones & my abilities to buy them as a gift for my 25th year in Broadcasting.
Desirability:
Sorry, but I am of the ilk that considers "style" as a lesser factor in the choice of gear.Paint it green, red white,purple.. it doesn't make it sound any better. BUT the earcushions are top-drawer i8n feel & I suppose,"style."
Sound:
These headphones have VERY transparent sound. Their frequency responce & SPL levels are all you need. They have been in my "toolbox" for 15 years or more, are rugged, but if a dignitary needs a pair of cans to use in-studio,I never hesitate to offer them mine. They are impressed not just by the sound, but comfort, style(whatever that has to do with it?)& they do not mess up their hair.
Support:
I have not needed support, but if the support quality is near build quality, there need be no fear.
Overall:
I have had my choice of headphones to use in many broadcast, roadie & studio applications. They ranged from in-ear noise-makers,"top"brands that are more hype than substance,electrostatics..with their excellant sound, but with their "heart defibrulator" amp/power packs. The AKG K240's are my pick & I would not hesitate to recommend them.
