"Plug In and Go Wireless"
Feature:This unit has the capability to make any dynamic mic wireless. The transmitter plugs into your mic and locks into place. It won't accidentally come out. We are using three of these...each on different frequencies. No compatibility problems whatsoever.
Quality:
I went with this product over the Samson AX-1 system, 'cause I am familiar with AKG quality. The Samson was a big unknown for me. AKG has a decent warranty too.
Value:
I made a special deal on this unit, 'cause I bought three at the same time for our trio. They are well worth the money that I paid. Shop around.
Desirability:
The transmitter has an okay design. The receiver is the best I've seen. It's a complete system with easy set up.
Sound:
The AKG WMS40 SO40 + diversity receiver is the way to go if you want to maintain your current mic characteristics. We were happy with the sound that we were getting out of our Audio Technica wired mics, but we wanted to go wireless. These puppies made them wireless without changing the mic's sound qualities. They also work very well with our AKG D880 wired mics.
Support:
AKG has always been supportive and quick to respond to my e-mails.
Overall:
The AKG system is a good product, and I would buy it again. The components are road worthy, but don't throw them around. This unit gives you much better quality than anything Nady or Samson puts out. I would compare it to the Audio Technica series of wireless systems, but AT doesn't have a plug in system like this.
