"Awesome keyboard for an awesome price!!"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Feature:
Has enough features for me, not a big feature freak. It does have some good editing features, even though it only has 1 lowpass filter, you can still create some awesome sounding patches. With some work, I was able to create an decent emulation of Janne Warman's lead sound, without using the original waveforms, so I'm happy.
Quality:
Tough design, great sounds, good keypads, havn't had a problem yet.
Value:
For the price range you can't really find a better keyboard, I'm making music with my band and it's working out great. I don't think I'll need to upgrade too soon, and even when I do I'll probably just get a module, cuz I like the design of this keyboard and it's reliable.
Desirability:
Hmm, well I'm not one about looks so I couldn't say, but I did really go crazy with sharpies and stickers, so now it loks awesome. I guess it looked cool out of the box, but who cares how a keyboard looks, it's the performence and sound that matters.
Sound:
Sound quality is awesome for the price range
Ease of Use:
Pretty easy to use once you read the manual, but making your own patches will require some practice and some tutorials on synth programming.
Support:
The spring to my pitch wheel broke, so I got a hold of Alesis, about 3 days and 15 dollars later, I had a 5 pack of brand new springs, seems like great service to me.
Overall:
I've had this keyboard for about 6 months now and I'm very happy with it. If my band makes it into a recording studio I'll probably buy a module or too to beef up the sound library. Don't get me wrong, the keyboard has a decent sound library, but I only found 15 presets that appeal to me, and the keyboard only uses 1 lowpass filter, so I would get modules to give me more to work with, but I would keep the keyboard as a controller becuase I love the keyboard.
