Two words come to mind wiht the SVT-4 head..... FREEKIN AWESOME I'm playing this head through two ampeg BXT-410 cabinets and BOY DOES IT SOUNDS GODLY, this is simply the best bass amp ever made, tons a headroom, Especially with a hot output bass like a Warwick Thumb 5 string which is what im running into this amp. Perfect sound for any style, but personally im a very aggressive bassist think flea and mudvayne for my technique and this thing KICKS all others...enough said

The features of this amp are impressive, two things its missing is a footswitchable solo and efx loop controls(standard junk on mesa M-pulse series amps)aside fomr that This amp is great, standard 5 stage ALL TUBE EQ gain,bass, mid selector, ultra mid, and treble all decked out wiht ultra high, ultra low, bright and -15db for active instruments all selectable fomr the head itself, another good thing about this amp is the plethora of extra features which really come in handy such as a MUST HAVE ON ANY BASS AMP a graphic EQ, ampeg truly has the best graphic section of any amp manufacturer for bass, aside fomr EQ it also features a compressor onboard which comes in handy for aggressive style to dial in that perfect tone the direct out on this amp truly sounds great, for a Direct out, because the best sound comes from your speakers, this amp is also bi-ampable via two seperate power amps, and can be run in stereo mode which is great for EFX say sending effects like distortion to tweeter-less cabinests and chorus to one wiht a tweeter etc etc, but personally i love doing the efx thign from time to time so ill occasianly run my cabinets stero for that purpose, otherwise i run this mammoth beast of an amp's power amp bridged into my two cabinets.

i wouldnt know, ive never had a porblem wiht any of my ampeg equipment ive ever had since the days of me playing a B-2R half stack......so im gonna go wiht a ten here, been playing bass for 6 years nothign but ampeg, and with good reason
