"good for moderate gain and louder mics."

Quality:
The pre-amp can get noisy with the 20 db boost.If you can do without it,this pre-amp is good to go.

Sound:
This preamp does what it says.Its a clean sound but the +20 db boost combined with a not-so-clean condenser mic and its hiss all over.Its good with moderate gains but anything above 50 db of gain and to me its worthless.It's better to buy a quieter mic or a better pre-amp.Since i got 4 for free,im not complaining very loud about it.

Overall:
Its not bad really provided you dont need a lot of gain.if you do,get someting else.
