    "Great for Gaming!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
The sound is terrific...very open and airy with great treble and bass sounds/clearly distinct. With the Mixamp I have surround sound. I have tested this with a program that plays 5.1 sounds one at a time from each "virtual" speaker and, if you close your eyes, the AD700's do a terrific job making you think you are in the middle of a circle of speakers. As far as gaming, I have noticed some front to behind sound movement and maybe some side to side, but not as much as I would like. I blame this on the game programing as I know (from the test program) the headphones are capable of the surround sound. I have tried these with some music as well but not extensively. What I did listen to sounded pretty good.
    Ease of Use:
Very easy to use. Just plug in and go.
    Quality:
The headphones appear very durable and well made. I have read complaints of them being to big on a lot of people. I have an average-to-small head for a guy and I can see some of the legitimacy of their complaints. They have auto adjusting cushions that sit on top of your head which are on loose tensioners that are supposed to take up slack between you and the main frame of the headphones. There is a sort of loose feeling when I put them on but if I don't move a lot (standing, bending over, etc) then they are fine. I wear these for up to 4-6 hours when I game. They never get hot (maybe warm at most) and I feel no irritation. I may adjust them unconsciously a couple times per hour if that. I will say that if the tensioners ever become less "tense" the headphones will become a droopy nuisance. But so far I don't see that happening/
    Value:
The price, especially on Same Day Music, was very good. They did a match on Google Shopping prices and actually beat the lowest price out there (among the sellers they deemed legit...but I agreed with their process). I feel the product was well worth the price!
    The Wow Factor:
I love how light they are and am not turned off by the purple color. It just seems to work and have a modern, stylish look to them. My friends are jealous and always want to put them on when we game instead of using their headphones!
    Overall:
I love these headphones! I bought these to use with my Mixamp 5.8 wireless set up and my gaming consoles (Xbox 360 and PS3). They work great! The sound is wonderful. Now, a disclaimer: I have never played my consoles with headphones alone but I am reluctant to go back to playing without these now. I have compared them to a gaming headset (the Creative Fatal1ty) and there is no comparison (of course they are not even in the same league or price range for that matter). The AD700's have a wonderful large-space sound and I find the bass to be just right!

    "Audio Technica AD700 ATH"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
The soundstage is excellent. You can clearly hear where sounds are coming from in both gaming and enjoying music. The bass is light, but this doesnt mean it isnt there. You will certainly get some low notes, but they won't rattle your skull like some other cans. Personally, this is a positive for me, but bassheads may view it differently.
    Feature:
These cans are for at home use only for me. They are way too big and way too ugly for street use. The fitment of these cans is a little unusual. I have a normal sized mellow (about 7 3/8 hat size) and these are a little loose. There are simple things you can do to make these fit better. The Phat Pad mod and the rubber band mod cost pennies, take no time, dont void warranty, and really enabled me to custom tailor these to my liking.
    Ease of Use:
THESE DO REQUIRE SOME BURN-IN! Listen to them straight out of the box and you will likely not be overly impressed. Run them at a normal volume level overnight for a couple days and you will hear them transform into what you were hoping for.
    Quality:
Product is well made, the cord is nice, and for $100 cans, you will be hard-pressed to find better.
    Manufacturer Support:
Haven't needed to contact the manufacturer...as it should be.
    Value:
In the $100 price range, these are great multi-purpose cans for anyone who doesnt require pounding bass to be happy.
    The Wow Factor:
The first wow is "HOLY CRAP, these things are gigantic and purple!" Luckily the second wow comes after about 40-50 hours of burn in when you start hearing them as they are meant to be heard.
    Overall:
After much deliberation I decided to pull the trigger on these cans. A little research will reveal a couple common thoughts from other reviewers; the soundstage is awesome, the bass is light, and they are HUGE! All of these are accurate, but require a little clarification which I will provide below. My review is based on 80% gaming and 20% music listening.
