"Not Comfortable!"
Feature:Never came with anything I had to go and buy a 1/4 to 1/8 converter so I can listen to music with a cd a player.
Quality:
not bad but the ear padding is a little big and hard.
Desirability:
basic black, they are also really big
Sound:
It's alright, for the price it's good.
Overall:
I cannot wear these for longer than 10 minutes, they are not comfortable, my ears get hot, and feel smashed, maybe I have big ears or something but, I'm refunding them and getting something more comfortable, considering I spend many hours on the computer editing music.

"The D40 fs is for anyone needing added bass response in headphones, and will serve in any professional area."
Feature:No frills....standard package.... Solid built and oh so nice to wear at long periods.
Quality:
Comfortable and can wear at long times without being too heavy.
Value:
The audio technica line is pro all the way and worth the price.
Desirability:
Head phones for me are a must..as I am in my personal studio working on stuff all he time. The D40fs phones provide a super sound with the added bass....BUT to used with caution in serious mixes....go with the flat D40.
Sound:
One thing to keep in mind with these phones...is the added bass response. Be warned! If you are planing to use these in a critical mixing format...the bass will seem much more than it really is....and it can be hard to conpensate as you listen and mix via your near fields or standard monitors. In all other areas these phones rule! For what they are designes for...added bass.....10+
Support:
The reason why I came to this site to begin with. After several years of faithful service, one of the drivers needs replaced. This is due to my own abuse of the phones, not a problem with the constuction. (I love to use these phones when practising guitar...by plugging into my POD...or other FX. It's very easy to turn up....) I have yet to find out if I can get replacement drivers for them..but I assume I will.
Overall:
I am trying to replace the driver....as I want to use these phones another 10 years and more.

"Linear Respone? Not really!"
Sound:These Headphones are FAR away from being linear, very overtoned mid range. I just did some frequency response measurement on them with my measurement microphone and it showed up what i already heard. Anyway i did make a EQ Adjust curve for monitoring with them and now they sound fine. Altough a good point is the HIGH power handling ability!
