"Great speakers!! But...better have a good back!!"
Feature:Power cord is shorter than most...not robust. Invest in a better cord if you do a lot of mobile stuff. Features are as advertised..there are few powered speakers that have an EQ. They work well and you can tell a differance when you adjust. They are well recessed and protected from bumps. Every thing is laided out in logical order on the control panel.
Quality:
Quality?? I am a QA Manager so I look for those things...passes my tests...well made...cosmeticaly desireable...good external components..robust. Grill is heavy duty..
Value:
Well I guess that depends...Behringer is Behringer...I think it is a good value...If you have a brand loyality other than Behringer then you will have to decide..To me I think it is the best speaker they have made in a long time.
Desirability:
Looks good!!! although the 600 Watt "badge' is a little cheesy..Yeah I will keep it.
Sound:
Sound is "pretty darn good"!! Compared to other speakers..i.e srm450's they fall a little short on clarity and are a little harsh. Although these sound better through a sound processor such as a BBE. There is very little hiss though the tweeter..bass is very pronounced and tight..no rattle or distortion at higher SPL..the DSP helps the sound as you can adjust several prameters to help the speakers sound decent.
Ease of Use:
Real easy..I took out of the box and pluged right in. powered up with a relay click...blue light on the front lights ...ones in the rear do not light unless there is something happening with the I/O. When you hit the power switch you have to look for the blue light on the front to see if power is on
Support:
No problems yet.but I suspect I will have no problems...I have a FEW other Behringer items...never a problem
Overall:
I have Yamaha, JBL passives and Mackie srm450's..Compared to those these will hold their own. They are excellent companions/re-enforcement speakers..and sound decent on their own. They look good..(they are not blue but they are not light either)...the only drawback I see is...HEAVY....65 pounds...come on!!! I knew that when I bought them..good amps are heavy...eh? They advertise a "light weight speaker"....HAHAHA..The boxes were trashed by the carrier when they arrived...I would request a double pack from the shipper. No damage to the speakers though. These speakers are worth the price..you better have some muscle to put them on the stands...but they are built solid and sound great...I am pleased with the purchase.
