"Could have been built better"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Feature:
I like the stereo feature. If you have a stereo pre-amp and stereo amp, this thing can really fill a room with the sound.
Quality:
Okay, NOT INCLUDING THE CASTERS, I took the grill off the minute I unpacked it and found some funkiness. This cab is particle board, so I know it's not going to last too long, especially in humid weather. The vinal on the outside rips very easy. The screws that hold the grill on are of course screwed in the cheap particle board, and were already loose, because the board was stripped out (not good because I won't be able to fix my grill rattle easily). INSIDE the cab, there are supports - little blocks of wood that are supposed to provide added support. The bad thing is, they are only GLUED on. No screws. I have had it less than a week, and one has just falled off. I had to take the handle off one side to get it out, so it wouldn't rattle. The particle board, again, is pretty flimsy, and with the majority of the cabinet just GLUED together, I don't expect it to last that long, especially on the road. Under the speaker grill, the glue that was used to seal it was put on by what looks like a 5th grader. It's smeared, etc. Bad quality craftsmanship. BUT the good news is, they painted over it, so it's hard to see, from the audience at least.
One more issue I have - They switched speakers, and now use Bugera. I still like them, but know very little about them. They 'claim' the cab handles 400 watts, witch is a flat out lie. PULL a speaker out and you'll see that the speakers are rated 75 W each, and do the math. 4 X 75 is 300 Watts, NOT 400. I don't like false advertisement just to get someone to buy.
Despite all that, however, I am very impressed with the sound.
But it WAS only ~$200
Value:
Value/price ratio, very good.
Desirability:
It does look cool. I just really wanted the speakers with the gray rim, like in the pic, and they don't come like that anymore.
Sound:
This cab sounds pretty good, I have to admit. It is nice and loud when you want it to be, but still sounds great at lower volumes. It has a nice frequency rance, but mine rattles a tad bit during palm-mutes. I think one speaker wasn't screwed tight enough, but that's an easy fix. Nice highs, mids, and lows.
Ease of Use:
Plug in, switch the switch, and play... very simple.
Support:
I had to deal with Behringer ONE time, about the VAMP Pro, and the gentleman that assisted me went out of his to to find the info I needed. Very helpful. I hope their service dept is always like that.
Overall:
I will probably use it for about 1 year. I hope it will, but don't expect it to last much longer. I will not replace it with another one like it, but I bought it just because I wanted to try it out. I am pleased with it, and do not feel ripped off. It's very inexpensive.
