"THE BEST AMP FOR UNDER 250 bucks(until you get to its big brother, tbe BX1200)!!!!!"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Feature:
The dynamizer circuitry works very well. I love the headphone jack(or my parents do atleast)because I can jam out anytime I want to silently. If its one in the morning I can put on my headphones and rock. I can also hook my cd player or sterio up to this amp and use it as a speaker or subwoofer(hehehe sounds cool to hook ur home enterntainment center up through hehe) Active 4-band EQ(very nice indeed, especially for the money). And the tone "Shape" know functions as a compressor pedal(another 60 bucks or so built in). And the tone "Shape" know functions as a compressor pedal(another 60 bucks or so built in). Cant beat the features unless u buy an amp for about 200 dollars more and get a 60 dollar compressor pedal to match it.
Quality:
Built like a tank. I gig w/ it without a backup. Hasnt failed on me yet. Quality itself is very good. I do a lotta work with speakers in my house and my car(I built my own cab for my car last summer) and the 12 inch driver isnt the best but it definately does the job(you could always drop a competition 12'' speaker in this baby and that would be awesome just make sure you use the same impedence). The worst part of the quality is ummm.... well there really isnt that much bad about the amp. You pay for less than what you get(awesome deal great value).
Value:
I would rate this amp about a 20 but the scale only goes to 10. If you get one thing from this review get this. FOR THE MONEY YOU CANNOT, CANNOT, CANNOT BEAT THIS AMP! I would buy this over Fender. I would buy this over Ibanez. I would buy this over Peavey(peaveys are way too expensive and their stuff breaks). If you are a poor high school student(such as myself) and just dont have 1200 bucks laying around to throw at an Ampeg or if you need a great sturdy practice amp thats small and you can do small gigging with; you want this one(trust me). For the money its untouchable. If this by some FREAK of nature broke and died or I dropped it off a bridge(who knows), I would definately replace it. Its worth its weight in gold, maybe platinum to have.
Desirability:
One cool thing is for 60 watts and a 12 inch speaker its big. I can still throw it in the back of my Honda civic w/o a problem. But its not a wimpy lil practice amp by any means. It looks um like an amp. I give it a 6 for "sex appeal" but this is an amp, and this should have NO impact on buying it. Its a device for sound, not a prop.
Sound:
Im in a local punk band but I play Jazz in my high school Jazz band. I also have an acoustic that I play out of this amp. I play out of an OLP MM2 Musicman Stingray and between the 2, the sound is phenominal. It crackles slightly when the volume pot is very low but thats nothing to worry about. AWESOME SOUND that is very suitable and flexible for any type of music. Also might I point out the Active 4-band EQ(very nice indeed, especially for the money). And the tone "Shape" know functions as a compressor pedal(another 60 bucks or so built in). And despite what some people say this thing is loud. Maybe not loud enough to play at an arena or stadium, but more than loud enough to take to my local battle of the bands or coffee house. Great amp.
Support:
I don't know about with this amp, I havent had to deal with it yet. But I did contact them for my school when our Behringer PA Mixer short circuited(thing was 11 years old). It was out of warranty but they helped us find a dealer that would fix it(we ended up just buying a Carvin mixer :) ] But they seem as if something was wrong with one of their products under warranty they would be more than glad to rectify the situation.
Overall:
Its great. Its great. I would cry if it disappeared and then I would go buy another with the money I dont have(I might have to get a job to get another but it'd be worth it). When I get out of college and become famous(I hope) I will more than endorse these and the company to anyone who needs amps or anything that Behringer makes.
