"I wish I had this 20 years ago."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Has almost all of the features I would want in a Cable Tester. Dual banana and Speak-on terminals would be nice. The intermitent check is great. You can just plug in your cable and wiggle and stretch and shake it to your hearts content and watch for the intermittent LEDs for each pin to come on and then reset it to do it again. This is about impossible with a multimeter.
Quality:
No problems yet although it has not been subjected to any abuse. Case is metal and seems sturdy.
Value:
This is one of the best investments I have ever made. I have been checking cables with multimeter all my life and this is 20 times easier. When you are under pressure at a gig or setup, this takes all the stress out.
Desirability:
This is not the most exciting piece of equipment. However, if you are a working musician with a lot of cables, once you get it, you will wonder how you lived without it.
Ease of Use:
I can't imagine anything quicker or easier to use. I went thru all of my bands cables in about half an hour and found problem cables (intermittents) that I did not even suspect. It is so intuitive that I cannot imagine anyone even needing a manual but the small manual included is nice - even has common pin-outs in it. It even indicates exactly which pin is wired to which pin. I don't see how anyone could have any complaints.
Overall:
I am buying one for a friend that runs sound and is a musician. If I lost mine I would buy another one right away.

"A must for any PA toolbox"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
It can test just about any cable or combination you have. You can also use it to balance channels on a mixer, or a quick test of a supposedly "bad" amplifier. What else do you want?
Quality:
I've dropped it a couple of times in the shop, and it shows no signs of the fall.
Value:
There are more expensive cable testers, but they don't do anything that the CT100 can't do.
Ease of Use:
Pretty easy to use, right out of the box. There probably was a manual, but if so, I lost it. It's never seemed to matter ...
Overall:
I'm buying a second one, just in case the first one goes bad. That's about as good a recommendation as you can get!
