"This is a lifesaver for Studio and Live work! "
Feature:Phantom Power! Unbalanced XLR to Balanced! Two 20db Pads! This is a lifesaver for Studio and Live work!
Quality:
Only gripe is no deburring inside where the battery is. I can see damaging the wires if I don't deburr myself. Otherwise it's very sturdy and sleek.
Value:
I would have paid more!
Sound:
I've been recording for 30 years, this is one of the best bangs for MY buck I've ever had. It does everything a direct box is supposed to and more.( I actually bought it for Phantom power!)and it suprised the hell outta me. I'm used to paying much more for this! DaveO
Support:
Don't need support for this unit.

"superb sound with your DI BOX"
Quality:sometimes when I place the DI box in my equiptment bag with the rest of the wires and stuff and I return the following week to use it, I might encounter that the battery has gone dead. Therefore I began to remove the battery after each session to solve that problem but now have gotten a new problem....The 9volt clip has a short in the wire. Is there any means of improvement that can be done in this area? I am currently using (3)three of them with the keyboards & drums.
Overall:
As long as the problem can be fixed.

"Quality and Options ... Low Cost!!!"
Feature:Fully loaded ... I've got four of these boxes, all taking 1/4 unbalanced and sending to a sound board. Ground Lift and Cuts are a a wonderful thing!
Quality:
The rubber pads are a great idea ... we don't stack 'em, but I've dropped one before, and had no issues ...
Value:
Have not really found comparable buys through local retailers.
Desirability:
I've never really been one to rate on appearance, but this is a nice looking box. Clean lines, and the shiny aluminum is a nice touch ... no flat-black for me!
Sound:
Found the DI box to be highly configurable, and able to handle different instruments/different levels easily. The cuts were great, as they give me much more control over the level I'm sending to the box.
Overall:
I bought one of these boxes second-hand ... and liked it so much that I bought three new ones for my church. We're now expanding to a second stage setup, and I'm planning on purchasing three additional DI boxes to meet the needs. I would recommend these units to anyone with a tight equipment budget who is looking for great quality and lots of options.

"These are lifesavers..."
Feature:Well, you don't need much features on a DI box. Specially when you're paying a passive DI's price for an active one. The ground lift of course is there. Plus the two -20db pads that are lifesavers sometimes. Then there is your 1/4" and XLR inputs and a direct link for your amp. And of course the XLR out.
Quality:
Them Germans! They make great stuff. The DI-100 is built like a tank, clearly with the on-the-road guys in mind. The rubber legs do a great job protecting the unit. You can stack a few of these things on top of each other too. That's good design. I don't know who designed the battery compartment though...
Value:
For the price it just won't get any better. A quiet phantom-powered unit, built this well and this easy to use, and priced at only $30 is worth every single penny and then some.
Desirability:
I definitely want them. They look cool and work the way they're supposed to. People will come up to you and ask what they are, and you'll look more PRO! Pricewise they're unbeatable, and in some live situations you just won't be able to do your gig without one or two. I'm already considering buying one or two backups before hitting the road.
Sound:
This thing is extremely transparent. I compared recordings with and without the DI-100 using a Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones (from a digi001) and I couldn't tell any difference. I even had my friend play then two tracks randomly just to see if I could tell and I couldn't.
Overall:
If you do live shows, sooner or later you're not only gonna want one, you're gonna NEED one. Because you're gonna be playing at a club with not-so-great sound system with ground loop problems and guess what. You're gonna be crying like a baby without a direct box. With all the great return policies now, try one for yourself. You'll be happy you did.

i like the two attenuation pad buttons that come with it.
Value:
it sells at the same price passive DIs are going for.
Desirability:
its a little big but the color is good.
Sound:
i was experiencing hum on all the guitears, that is the bass and acoustic. i had the whirlwind director and imp 2 direct boxes but they were horrible. this d100 d.i. box was excellent no hum, good clarity and excellent gain.
