"Not what I expected."
Overall:Sound quality poor. I tried using one to EQ my speakers and room. Seems to have very limited dynamic range. Low-level audio is grungy and noisy when using active EQ function. Overloads easily on bass. Seemed to over-correct my room, boosting everything in the midrange to unlistenable levels. Can't stand the sound, took it out after one day.

"Got to be the best value digital EQ in todays market."
Feature:Hey, sure these things are 6+ years lod now - but you get a lot of very useable features. Not to be compared to a PA management system but the PC interface is good. and the RTA & EQ edit functions are also very useable.
Quality:
Hey, it gets a 7 because without ripping the lid off this I know what I am going to see. I will equate a 7 to a B (as in A+ equals top of the class and F is a flat fail). It gets a 7 because I never expect a physical problem and I am using this in an install situation, where the gear is packed away weekly but everything gets a quality flight case. I expect that if this was hire stock for the local Pro Audio outfit that after 5 years the rear jacks would be loosing tension (not an issue because it also uses quality XLR's) and that the soft buttons may be getting a little worn. In my situation I expect a 8+ year life span - which is a brilliant return on investment.
Value:
I don't even know what to compare this with here. I brought 2 of these for $190USD each - which is just huge bang for the buck...
Desirability:
Get's a six here because it is the old model and other companies are rolling out PA "Drive" type units which rolls in a lot of the DSP8024 type functions and adds a few features including very good PC support. I know that this is comparing apples with oranges - but I brought the 8024's because of their broad functionality.
Sound:
Way better than 80% of the low end competition. And at current run out pricing offer a product that we woud have been only dreaming of 10 years ago. Still good value as a EQ in current market. I am not a Behringer biggot, but believe we should all thank these guys for shaking the global Pro Audio industry. It is thanks to Behringer that companies like A&H, EV & EAW are becoming more progressive in there pricing and products they are presenting to the middle & low end markets.
Support:
Great, I know that Behringer Australia would replace this for new if I did have an issue. These guys now have just about an unmatched global distribution presence.
Overall:
Gets a nine from me because if you are reading this review and shopping in this category I rate this as a "Best Buy" at its current price even in todays market with all the other brands & features on offer. Go get 3 or 4 of these today.... Even a standalone RTA is normally worth more than this current asking price.
