"Top effects on a bottom budget."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
I have used other inexpensive effect processors in the past and I have found the FX2000 to out do other units in the same price range. I love the sound of the reverb from this unit and it has some great delays aready programed in. The Fx2000 could hovever use a tap delay to make editing delays easier. There are a couple of effects in the FX2000 that are just down right anoying such as the vinyliser and some other noises programed in to sound like aliens or something. I personaly don't have the the use for childish noises but with a little editing I'm pretty sure they can be deleted. The only other bad thing I have bad to say, is the manual that the FX2000 comes with is very vague. This can be solved by downloadig the manual from it's brother the DSP2024P. The to units seem to be identical other than a couple added stereo effects in the FX2000.
Like I said earlier the FX2000 could use a tap delay for easier editing, other than that the unit has everyting a soundman or musician could need.
Ease of Use:
The unit is relatively easy to use once you get the manual fom the DSP2024P. I think Behringer forgot they were selling a unit priced for begining misicians when they printed the manual for it.
I would give the FX2000 a 10 in this catagorie, but I've only had it for a short while. If it is like my other Behringer products, I'm sure it will stand the test of time. My FX2000 seems to be built well and looks nice in my rack. I would however like to see them go back to the effect display they used in the DSP2024P. The old display just looked a lot sharper.
I contacted Behringer for some questions about applications of the unit to different sub groups and was treated like I was an inconvenience. I was told different infomation from different techs. If Behringer isn't going to provide a more clear owners manual, they should be prepared to answer questions. In the past I have contacted Behringer for tech support and the person I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. This could be the luck of the draw.
For the price I don't think you'll find a more easy operating, quality sounding effects processor.
The Wow Factor:
Like I said it is a nice looking unit, I just prefered the old display. I also wouldn't mind seeing what it would look like all black.
I'm sure I will have my FX 200o for a long time to come. When I buy another mixer board I will be purchasing another FX2000 for different effects on more sub groups. If my FX2000 were lost or stollen, I would just buy another one.
