"BUYER BEWARE!"
Feature:
This amp came with a footswitch and owners manual.
Quality:
Cosmetically, it's beautiful. You can get a lemon in anything. Hopefully this is an isolated incident. It's too early to pass judgement on Behringer.
Value:
Compared to other amps with similar features, I thought this was a bargain. What is cost me to ship it back, I really didn't save anything.
Desirability:
Waiting for replacement. The first one burned up in two weeks. Hopefully the new one will be okay. I guess one of the selling points that convinced me to buy this amp, was the DSP effects, and the price.
Sound:
I have been impressed with the quality of Behringer products. I recently purchased a Ultratwin 212 online and it arrived by UPS. Those guys sometimes get pretty rough with handling things. Upon taking the amp out of the box and trying it out, the effects never worked since day one. Not being totally familiar with this amp, I read the owners manual to see if I was doing something wrong. I wasn't. About two weeks later, I turned on the amp and it began to crackle and hum. Smoke rolled out of the back and it was fried.
I'm not sure if it got bounced around during shipping, or if something was defective. Whatever the case, it's cooked WELL DONE!
The seller has agreed to exchange it for me. I shipped the old one back at my expense, and I'm waiting for the new one. Hopefully this one will be okay. Of the reviews I have read, it's hard to get response to warranty problems. The Behringer company is in Germany.
I have a Behringer 4-12 speaker cabinet and I love it. As for their amps, mixers, etc. I think I will stick with a USA made brand.
Support:
I have not dealt with Behringer direct. They are located in Germany. The seller has agreed to exchange it. That's about the best I can expect. I did have to pay shipping to send it back, but he's paying shipping to send me the new one.
Overall:
If this amp were lost or stolen, I would defineatly not buy another Behringer. I have been a Fender man for years, but there are plenty of other good amps out there. Crate, Peavey, Ampeg, Roland, Randall, and Yamaha, just to name a few. I have owned them all, and they are all good.
