"This unit is a Mercedes Benz quality with Kia pricing...Amazing!!!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
I really appreciate that this product includes the carrying case and the footswitch. The footswitch is so well built, it could easily be sold seperately for $50+, and the case could also be sold seperately and command a hefty premium. I also appreciate how the most useful features were included without overloading the entire unit.

    Quality:
My entire experience with everything from how it was packaged to how well everything is made and assembled has been most excellent.

    Value:
I genuinely feel that if this unit were offered in the $300 range it would still be a real bargain....at the current price of under $150 is absolutely astounding and any musician worth their salt would be foolhardy not to give one of these units a test run before spending lots of bucks on bloated, overpriced multi-effects processors offered by other companies.

    Desirability:
This unit has effectively replaced the two pedal boards I have been using for 5 years. Did I mention each board held 10 effects pedals? This unit is sheer genius, coupled with available patch updates via the Behringer website just exceeds all customer expectations. A very rare thing in this day and age.

    Sound:
It's amazing how it can sound so authentic without sounding sterile. Each setting is distinctly different from the other.

    Support:
I've only dealt with the website and I've been able to find everything I needed using the website.

    Overall:
I see myself using this unit until Behringer comes out with a newer model...and then only if it has something that I could use but isn't available with the V-Amp2. I honestly think this unit will become an heirloom for my 13yr. old son.

"WOW! This thing is a gas!"

    Feature:
All you need is a giutar and something to plug it into.

    Quality:
A friend has the old V-AMP and he uses it in a regular gigging band. Mine is for home studio use. No problems. I am impressed with Behringers quality.

    Value:
I am constantly amazed at the quality and features that Behringer has. Great bang for the buck!

    Desirability:
IT HAS KNOBS!!!!! I hate tapping buttons to make simple adjusments!I'm old school. I love seeing at a glance where my settings are. There a couple of buttons, but all the important stuff is right in front of your face to see!

    Sound:
    WOW!

    Support:
So far I've never had to contact them.

    Overall:
If someone stole it I would buy another right away. The only reason I gave it a 9 in this categorie is that I am always open to new ideas. If they simplified some of the banking procedures, I would probably upgrade. Otherwise this will be with me a very long time.

    "yo POD, don't be hatin'"

    Feature:
Footswitch, not the most functional, just does up and down banks, but it is INCLUDED, and its made of, gulp, metal!! The cables are all heavy duty. On off switch like everyone else said would be nice. a S?PDIF would be pushin it a little for 139.0 I suppose.

    Quality:
I've heard a few people complain about the plastic, fair enough, but seems like it will take the typical abuse pretty well. Don't really know about the dependability, but my Compser's been workin' flawlessly for years.

    Value:
It's woth the price easily. the POD is a fine product, but i truley like the sound better from the V-Amp, I didn't buy it soley based on price, I could have afforde the POD, but The features, quality, AND keep it simple stupid interface, coupled with the amazing idea of shipping with at least 50 USABLE, OUT OF THE BOX, presets is pure genious!! This is not a knock on the V-Amp at all, but do all of these preamp manufacturers think we need a triple wahed, chorused paper thin distorted, pitch shifted warble sound that has no practical value in ANY style of music? Man there are always like 30 worthless presets, at least Behringer added 50 great ones to the mix.

    Desirability:
I could care less if this thing was shaped like Al Roker, if it still sounds the same, Gimme Al!!! the lighted knobs are pretty cool, easy to see the levels.

    Sound:
POD? who needs one. Well I did last week, I had to do a session for a commercial, I liked the POD, but had to borrow it. So this week I needed it again but wanted to get one of my own. So off I went to the Local music store, scoffed at the sales"dude" trying to get me to by the POD and grabbed the V-Amp 2 box and made my way to the front. Got to the session, box only opened to the point of the carrying case, got a look from the producer/engineer like what the hell is that?plugged the unit in, stereo, plugged in the guitar, navigated through bank 1, a,b,c,d,etc.. about 3 or 4 banks in the producer said, that's it, perfect. That's one of the HUGE differences between the V-Amp and all the other processors I've used. USABLE PRESeTS!!! I don't always have the time to mess around with EQ's, and gain etc... this thing is for the Working guitars who needs to spend time playing guitar, not playing with knobs and buttons.

    Overall:
This is not to piss off POD owners, but there really is no reason to spend the extra on the POD. If you want to spend extra, get the V-Amp Pro, rackmount, S/PDIF & AES/EBU plus balanced XLR stereo outs!! I would have bought the Pro but there were none in stock.

"read this review and you will buy it and not be disappointed"

    Feature:
everything you need and more, only thing lacking is an on/off switch, built in tuner and every effect needed for complete tonal soundscapes an excellent studio addition. nice gig bag and footswitch included unlike rival pod that charges 150.00 plus for a footswitch.

    Quality:
with a durable plastic housing, short of actually dropping a marshall stack on it or driving over it with a vehicle, this should last a lifetime

    Value:
best deal in amp modeling history.....bar none.

    Desirability:
an excellent design with cool light-up knobs, whats there not to like

    Sound:
for the dough, it cant be beat, stands up to all others in this price range AND beyond, much more ambience than pod and more useable effects......absolutely the best money can buy, no im not kidding!

until she breaks down, i will rate the behringer co. high. why not?

    Feature:
Just a bag and a pedal switch, but for the price it is enough I think. Very Bad: no ON/OFF switch!! Aaaargh!

    Quality:
Generally well done, but a bit too light. Negative note: the battery in most cases needs to be replaced.

    Value:
    definitively

    Desirability:
very ugly, doesn't fit in the rack, many asked me if it was an old toy of mine...

    Sound:
Warm sounds, good simulations, even better "invented" amps. The "gain" control is really impressive, you can get an incredible variety of sounds just with this one! Good effects: reverb (great), compressor (great), chorus / flanger / phaser (nice), tremolo (nice), leslie(nice) Average effects: delay Bad effects: Wha (almost useless)

    "Great all around modeling thingy"

    Feature:
You cant really ask more for the price. SPDIF and XLR outputs would be nice, but then thats what the vamp2pro is for. As far as versatility, this thing is unbeatable. Especially when using the vamp design program, which unlocks even more tweaking options. The lack of an On/Off switch is pretty annoying, if you unplug it wrong youll lose all your presets. I back up my presets on the compuer now in case that ever happens again. I actually just leave the vamp on all the time now 24/7.

    Quality:
Its plastic, but im only having it for home use so its quite adequate as far as durability.

    Value:
It comes w/ footswitch and carry bag, which alone i think would run about 25 bux.

    Desirability:
Well the thing is shaped like a guitar body. some would call it a bit tacky. To me a looks a little bit like a kids toy. But the LEDs that it has around each knob are pretty darn useful, and it looks cool in the dark.

    Sound:
Pretty good sounds, not as good as the real thing. Gives good crunchy distortion sounds. But its very hard to get that smooth distortion. You'd probably need a harmonizer or something to help with that. All the effects sound pretty good, except for the Wah.

    Support:
Well i havent directly dealt w/ the company or called customer support. However the official v-amp site is really useful, and they have tons of tones and downloades for this thing. And its also updated regulary, which shows that behringer still cares about its products.

    Overall:
Easy to use, good tones, highly versatile. Great for home studio use. Probably not great for gigging, since its plastic and because of the preset change time. However, changetime is greatly reduced, when switch to another preset that uses the same cabinet and amp sound.

    Case, footswitch and power supply!!!

    Quality:
Yep, no on/off. Read some bad reviews on reliability. Shop told me no probs, but I paid $20 for 2 year warranty, just in case!

    Value:
    GREAT VALUE

    Desirability:
The sounds make it sexy, the look,....mmmm it's OK

    Sound:
I like traditional tube amp sounds and this thing sounds great, especially for the price. The other effects are also good and a definite bonus. Auto wah is a bit screetchy but heh, $140 you can't complain.

    Behringer V-Amp 2 Customer Review

    Feature:
It came with a footswitch, power supply and a carry bag. Could use a power switch. ALWAYS unplug it from the outlet, not the unit or you'll loose everything you saved!!!! It's plastic so treat it like you treat your guitar.

    Quality:
    Again, it's plastic!

    Value:
I've been playing for 20 years and played a lot of petals. This one sounds better than Digitech and line 6 in my opinion.

    Sound:
I love the sound I get from this little blue thing! Compared to a genisis and rp petals, this one has a warmer tone to it. When you turn up the drive it gets thicker, not thiner sounding. I play Satriani, Vai, Dream Theater and Eric Johnson tunes and it covers them all. I run it into a rh100 randall head (effect return) and marshall 412 cabinet. I haven't giged with it yet but used it at rehersal a couple of times. My guitars are a washburn explorer and a jackson rhodes. When I plug it into the input it's a bit noisey, hence the effects return.

"Absolute GEM for the technically savvy musician"

    Feature:
The best feature is the manual tone settings, reverb and master volume. This allows infinite flexibility in combination with whatever amp/p.a. system you happen to be using at the moment.

    Quality:
Qualifier here too...the internal components along with the modeling technology is the best in the industry...however, the housing itself is made of plastic and the cable inputs need to be attached to the housing in conjunction with the circuit board. The post on the tone/volume knobs would also benefit from being constructed of metal rather than plastic. I'm going on my 3rd unit in 4 years and although I'm extremely careful when setting it up twice a week at church, the inputs start shorting out after 1 year. I just budget for a replacement after 15-16 months. This last one I got an extended warrenty...might just be the ticket.

    Value:
It's the best value in terms of quality sound vs. price...unless you go with the Pro model and spend the extra $150 for the midi unit, there is nothing else out in the market that can do what the V-Amp 2 does.

    Desirability:
It does have some very nice curves...if you squint your eyes and tilt your head it actually looks like an electric guitar body.

    Sound:
The best way to squeeze the best sound out of this machine is to sit down and spend some serious time going thru each of the possible amp/cab/effect combinations. It can sound crappy, or it can sound absolutely astounding. The manual is worth it's weight in gold...read it until you memorize it.

    Support:
I emailed them concerning my 2nd unit and never received a reply...still waiting after 6 months.

    Overall:
I've used these for 4 years and I still don't see anything else being offered that has such a flexibility as to creating a fully processed heavy metal screaming guitar sound, and an organic, wailing, punch you in the stomach SRV tone. In my honest opinion...it does it all.
