"TOP OF THE $1K MULTITRACK FOODCHAIN!!!!!"
Feature:
The features are good. Half of them you won't need to use if you have or plan on investing in good mics, nearfield moniters, etc,.
Quality:
If its made by roland, then you know its good. I have a JC-120 along with my BR-1180CD. Both of them are outstanding, solid, professionally made pieces of equipment.
Value:
cost/use ratio = 1-1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
Desirability:
Put it this way. If this were a woman, I would have 15 little br1180's running around right now.
Sound:
The sound is better than sex. I can make just as quality recordings with this as my "tools that are pro" friends. You must be able to understand what "dynamics processing" and "compression" really mean before getting mad because your recording isn't "cd quality", because contrary to what you may have heard from other users I have made many cd quality recordings.
Support:
Again, if its made by roland, its solid. I have'nt had a problem with my new recorder, but I have had to call roland before to get some new pots for my volume and eq knobs on my JC-120. Not only was getting parts easy, they coached me through the replacement process. HOW COOL!
Overall:
I've tried many other multi-tracks (analog and digital) but in this price range, nothing compares. If everyone interested could just try it before they waste thier money on "computer based recording software/interfaces that unless you have a phd in audio production you'll never get anywhere with, then half of all homerecording muscians would own this unit.
