    "A Bit Disappointing"

    Sound:
I had a couple of pedals damaged and needed to replace a distortion. I had read some good reviews of this pedal and decided to give it a go with only a minimal tryout. I'd have to say that if there are good tones to be had with this pedal they're hiding. I have 30+ years of playing and I'm pretty confident that I can find my way around pedals and effects. So far not much luck with this thing. It DOES deliver the picking dynamics but I just can't get a satisfactory sound. I'm using a Marshall TSL with a LP Custom and an American made Strat with a HotRails P/U in the bridge position so I don't feel like my gear is sub-par. At this point I keep it in my gear bag in case I have to use a backup amp, but it's not "front line" material, to me.
    Ease of Use:
No rocket surgery here. The controls are straightforward and easy to understand.
    Quality:
As with most Boss gear it IS well-made.
    Value:
Unfortunately I bought this when they first came out so I paid way too much for it ($119.00). They're down to about the $75.00 range by now, but if you're going to buy it, I'd still consider haggling about the price.
    The Wow Factor:
Wel,, it IS a good looking pedal considering that Boss isn't exactly about the cosmetics.
