"Synth Phatness. A whole lot of fun."
Sound:
If you compare it to Elctro-Harmonix, it's a much better pedal. No big volume kick when you turn it on. Good sound quality on most of the 11 channels. A few of the channels don't process faster notes, but not a huge complaint. It's a great effect that adds a whole new dimension to your sound, especially when you start experimenting with holding the notes down. However, just a warning, you can drive the rest of the band crazy (especially your keyboard player) if you play it too much. I've found that works really well for dub reggae jams, and certain types of funk. If you're in a jam band, such as myself, it can definitely take your jams out to Jupiter.
Feature:
No accessories. Typical boss package. The pedal and that's it. Would recommend getting a 9V adapter. One cool thing about it is that there is a seperate input for a wah pedal if you want to get into making your bass "talk". Also with double outputs you can get some really cool "stereo" effects.
Quality:
Solid. Not going to fall apart after a few gigs, like an Electro-Harmonix. Great for gigging. It is built to take a beating. We'll see. I have only played a few shows with it.
Manufacturer Support:
Haven't had any problems yet. So I have nothing to add in this department.
Value:
It's fairly pricey. However, I'm of the philosophy that I'd rather pay more for one really good effect than get a deal on a bunch of mediocre effects. Depends on your style. I play mostly clean, with the exception of a compressor. So for me, the price wasn't much a factor.
The Wow Factor:
Let's put it this way. I dream about it.
Overall:
It really does provide a lot of sound variety. Like I said earlier, you don't want to keep it on for a whole show. But you can turn it on at different parts of the gig and each time it can be a different sound.
