"Great amp - Awesome price!"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
The sound is very clear and warm. It doesn't get that bassy "warble" ,as I call it, that you'll get out of british amps like Vox and Blackstar. I only use the clean channel since I use my effects line for overdrive/distortion (Vox Ice9 -GET ONE!). However, I do like the Crunch channel sounds and used it via the footswitch before I had my ice9. The Lead channel is OK but it's too much for me. It's very HOT and feeds back easily. It's a very METAL channel.
3 channels all with their own 3-band EQ! Most amps don't have that and they only have 2 channels. Also, the Noise gate is useful on the crunch and lead channels. The Presence knob will shape your sound from blues to aggressive. Love it! 120 Watts and 2 12's. Heck yes. Don't waste money on tube amps with low wattage. They can't drive their own speakers and thus, find a peak volume quickly. I haven't turned this thing up past 3, with or without a 412 connected.
Ease of Use:
Cake. It's all labeled. Just play around with all the settings and you'll find your sweet spot.
It's very well built, HOWEVER, it does get very hot and I've heard of some plastic connectors melting. In my own experience, I don't know of any melted plastic, but the solder joint on the AC connection did melt away completely. Easily fixed by pulling the head unit out and re-soldering. No biggie.
Haven't dealt with them personally. Local music store owner quit carrying Bugera because "they're no longer factory direct and their customer service sucks." But we both love their products.
$700 is a lot of money, but it's a steal for this amp. You won't find anything that sounds this good for under $1000. I promise.
The Wow Factor:
As soon as laid eyes on this amp, I fell in love. I love the blue status lights. It's not as deep as other amps so it takes up less space and it's bulky. I love the open back. Talking about it makes me wanna go play NOW! (too bad I'm at work)
This is the best amp I've ever played through! I've had it for over a year now and have yet to find an amp that sounds this good for under $1000. I bought it for $700 brand new. I play along side guitarists who use Vox and Blackstar amps that cost more and don't sound nearly as good. Even they say so. For reference, I only play double humbucker guitars with active pickups. I mostly play "church music" such as Hillsong and Planetshakers but I also like to play heavy music as well. I'm no stranger to triplets and pinch harmonics.
