"The classic tube sound that nails the classic rock tone!!"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
This amp was exactly what I was looking for. I also own the V5, which I love the sound of, and this sounds very close to it even though it is a hybrid with a 12ax7 in the preamp only. They both use the same speaker which is probably some of the reason. I wanted the tube breakup sound with fairly high gain but at an extremely low vol. for late night practice & recording. I tried it with both a Les Paul & a Strat and it sounded awesome on both. The gain is what I truly call very creamy and and clear. The only reason I gave it an 8 was it definately needs reverb to open the sound up, like most of this small combo amps do, but a reverb/delay pedal does work very well with it.
One of the nicest features is the headphone out, sounds great for recording into a mixer (line -10). I can then add reverb which really opens up the sound. That's the 1 feature the V5 has and this doesn't which would have really been nice.
Ease of Use:
Very easy to get a bluesy B.B. King to Classic Rock Clapton or early led Zeppelin tone.
For such a small amp it seems to be built like a tank! The looks are very boutique looking from the Leather handle to the leather covering. It just says class! I haven't had it long enough to really know how reliable it is but I have had no problems for over a year with the V5 so have no worries about this little amp.
The techs are very good with any kind of help I've ever needed both with email & phone support.
I think this amp is worth more than the cost. It just looks better and sounds just as good as many of it's higher priced competition. I think the quality of Bugera has come up a lot since the early days of Behringer.
The Wow Factor:
It just plain has that retro look of true class!! The pictures don't do justice to how good this little amp looks!
I expect to be satisified for a long time with this little amp. I would definately replace it.
