Feature:Simple design: plug in cable, add phantom power, and go. I do wish it had an on/off switch.
Quality:
The mic seems pretty rugged (they stood up well to the "tender" handling of the volunteer road crew). The fit and finish is very good. No complaints.
Value:
For the money a good choice, particularly for the cash-strapped group.
Desirability:
I started with a pair of the these(to check them out) and ended up buying three additional C195s in less than a week.
Sound:
I was somewhat apprehensive in using these microphones at first(quality electret condenser for under $100, right?) but found that the C195s performed very well indeed. The sound is a little warm, which was fine for the vocalists in the group. The cardioid pattern was very handy for dealing with unwanted pickup, but make sure the vocalists remember to keep the mic pointed towards their mouth!
Support:
Haven't used it, so.....
Overall:
A very good entry-level electret condenser mic that can be used in more than one application on the stage. What I especially like is knowing that if a C195 does "bite the dust", I don't have experience financial trauma replacing it.
