"High Learning Curve, but Good Value"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Has everything a semi-pro or hobbyist would need- much of it very much like professionals use. Includes everything you need to record and mix music. Also, XL includes an easy to use synth, and easy to use sampler which can be used to supplement your recordings. They are good quality, good sounding (though not exceptional, like the Native Instruments Kompakt I bought) DXi plug-ins- an EDIROL synth, and Dyad sampler.
Quality:
It's software. Other than the CD, you can't touch it But, it comes with what you need to get started, and the screens are very well designed, though again, the learning curve is high as you figure out what all of the thingies on the screen do.
Value:
In spite of the problems getting this going, I believe I couldn't have done better for the money. Good features at a reasonable price.
Desirability:
I believe this is the best recording software in its price and class.
Sound:
Sound only applies to its ability to re-create what you put in, and that is excellent.
Support:
Good, so far, but I have more than one problem I'm working with , so we'll see how they do. So far they have responded to my e-mails (properly submitted through their website) quickly.
Overall:
I don't imagine I'll ever need another like program, unless I do something very phenomenal with it, and sell something like a rock opera, and get really famous, and go on the late night TV shows, and make the cover of Rolling Stone, and need to upgrade my software to write "Rock 'n Roll Terrorist/War Criminal/Cross Dressing Guitar Wailer 2" and maybe win an Osker, or a Gramma, or Toomie, or whatever it is famous musicians win.
