Style of Music: I play what I like
Experience: amateur, been fooling around with guitars for ~20 years
Location: Elgin, TX - near Austin
"Nice pretty little beginner guitar."
Feature:bridge feels solid (no leaning when brought into tune.) Nut looks good. Tuning machines feel a little cheesy but consider that a good set of machines would cost over half the price of the guitar. The machines are better than I expected! Strings are decent. No popping or loosening on the bridge pegs. Only has one strap button. I hate tie on straps (comes with guitar). Installed second strap button and got a different strap. Much better. By the way, my 9 year old daughter and her guitar instructor (a female) both love the color and graphics.
Quality:
A little down grading here. The wood on the body shows some defects: dents and glue lines. I know that the defects existed in the factory. You can tell that they painted right over them. The defects are not generally glaringly noticeable. You have to have some experience with guitars in order to be able to notice them. Again, somewhat expected for a guitar in this price range, but still somewhat disappointing. The construction quality and setup are really good.
Value:
For the price, construction, setup, and wow factor, I don't think you will find a better value anywhere. It only gets a 9 due to the minor wood defects and mediocre sound quality.
Desirability:
Very appealing package.
Sound:
Low volume due to small shallow body, not unexpected though. Holds a tuning better than expected. Just not a great sound but what do you expect from an inexpensive, extremely small guitar.
Ease of Use:
The guitar was set up extremely well straight out of the box. All I had to do was tune it and put the affore mentioned second strap button on. The action is fantastic, really. I have seen major brand name guitars at retail stores that are not set up as well. No fret buzz all the way up the neck. Nice low action. Shorter scale length reduces pressure required to fret the strings.
Support:
Haven't had to test the waters here yet. Hopefully will not.
