"The Cordoba C5-CE - It's become the centerpiece of all my playing"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
The C5-CE has a very nice and precise sound with the Savarez Cristal-Corums it is strung with at the factory. I am still experimenting with various combinations of basses and trebles to find the optimal sound for me. The C5-CE is a very warm and expressive sounding guitar, and the Fishman iSys does a good job of capturing that.
Feature:
The gig bag that came with it is VERY nice gig bag, but since the C5-CE has a solid top I opted to keep it in a HumiCase. I use the tuner in the Fishman iSys ALL the time. It's much more handy than having the grab a separate tuner, turn that on, etc. I DID hear that the B-Band preamp which was previously used in the C5-CE did sound better than the iSys, and I DO wish I had been able to get a C5-CE with the B-Band system in it, but I wasn't able to find an older stock one.
Ease of Use:
It's a guitar, there was no learning curve involved. It is very easy to make it sound good.
Quality:
The fit and finish all seem top notch. It's certainly fine for use on the road.
Manufacturer Support:
I have not needed any work under the warranty. But I did contact the company about some questions I had, and they were VERY responsive and helpful.
Value:
I think the C5-CE (at least the one I got) is a great value for the money! Quality and sound as good as, or better than, classicals costing double what I paid.
The Wow Factor:
I don't about it's "sex appeal" LOL! It has nice rosewood veneer on the headplate. It's basically what I've come to expect, but it's not really unique or sexy. I bought it for its sound.
Overall:
I expect to use this for a long time. It seems like a real keeper. If it was stolen, I would buy another one immediately.
