Style of Music: Rock and "top forty"

Experience: Enough

Location: Texas

"Saw 'em up and grind 'em down!"

Feature:
As far as being able to play it on stage it is designed for this purpose. With the supplied footswitch, channel switching and reverb can get you by.

Quality:
Made in China.

Value:
The full stack is a tremendous value. Price is still very low.

Desirability:
It's better looking than the GX1200H which it replaced. It is still very lightweight, very!

Sound:
It has the same high gain characteristics of the Crate GX series. If you want to grind away on some metal, it will do it. Turn the gain down to 2 and it can play rock. You need to turn the treble up on this amp or the notes become imperceptible (muddy), then adjust the gain to where you like it. Adjust the tone, then adjust the gain. That way you aren't going back and forth searching and never finding. Turn the reverb up 3/4 and it sounds better IMO. Don't need a pedal for distortion, but a X/Vamp sounds good for adding effects. For it's purpose it does it's job well, it's not a overdriven tube sound it's a sawing/grinding distortion.

Support:
Never tried it.

Overall:
It's made for people who need a good amp and don't want to skip the rent payments to get one.
