crate is the best! would never own anything else soundwise for guitar..

could be a little lighter and smaller and pack all the 220 watts that u need without having to break your back to set it up

very nice people at crate.. very helpful and witty..they know their stuff. but no havent needed to call them for a damn thing..crate knows what to make for a very serious musician in the rock feilds or even blues!

i will always play through crate

Feature:
Three channels, clean, dirty, and heavey. high mid and low for the clean and distorted. fx loop return and send, two cab outputs, foot switch in and input. not to much!

Quality:
I'v had my small share of problems with it - at my band practices it sometimes cuts out and looses power randomly...but it has never let me down at a show, even when I play in 3 bands all in a row for several hours.... also it might jsut be on my amp but when i use the effects loop, it changes the sound of the distortion channels COMPLETLY, s@@king a lot of tone outa it and making it sound a lot more heavy metal like - the kind where you turn the high to 10 and mid to 0..... i cant seam to find anyone else with this problem, i might have to take it apart again and look at the circuts AGAIN...(took apart a few times to try to fix the power problem, yet found no problems...!)

Value:
i paid 350 for it used during the late 1999's. i think this amp is pretty damn old, it has different designs on the front than the newer and ever older ones of the same model that i have seen.

Desirability:
i've seen better.

Sound:
I have tried my setup through numerous heads, cabs, combo amps, etc...this head is one of the best sounds i have ever gotten out of all of them, with exception to some of H+K's combo amps and the triamp head.

Support:
i'm giving this a 5 because stupid crateamps.com DOES NOT have email. nowhere on their site is there any information whatesoever about AN EMAIL, so i have to call them about the fx-loop....well;**RING RING** waiting...waiting...."please hold"... 30 min later i gave up. i have had much better customer suport than this, much better...

Overall:
if i dont figure this damn fx loop thing out soon, i will have to be forced to purchase my dream amp - the H+K Dueltone 2x12 combo. its a bit more expensive than the crate (give or take 3k), but its god-like, and i sugest that anyone looking for that amp that once you try you will never ever go back to anything less.
