"Very Nice Set. Would Definitely Recommend To Anyone."
Feature:
The set came with the standard paper thin drumheads, the rim mount for the rack tom and a multiclamp to connect it to a cymbal stand, and the floor toms came with the legs. (pretty much the same as any other shell pack) The included heads are fine for the starting drummer who just wants to hit stuff, but right out of the box I put on a full set of Evans Heads. The multiclamp was alright but I replaced it with a Tama Roadpro tom/cymbal combo stand after a few months. The floor tom legs are alright but they're not anything special. If you like your floor toms up high you'll want to get longer FT legs but that's more due to the shallowness of the drums.
Quality:
This is an excellent product. The finish, shell hardware, and tone are amazing and they're comparable to any $4000 drum set. I've had people tell me how much they love the finish and they're astonished to hear that I paid less than $1000 for the shells. At venues I don't feel out of place setting this up beside custom Truth, Shine, or SJC drums. and the black-nickel rims are the same ones that Mapex uses on their Black Panther snare drums. These are dependable and road ready (if you have cases). Now of course I keep backup heads and a backup snare nearby, but any musician that's been there know what I mean.
Value:
Very good value. Professional looks and sound for an entry level price.
Desirability:
This is a very pretty set, mine is the Hardtale Blue Fade color, and I have yet to see pictures that actually do this color justice. It fades from a very very dark blue to a nice greenish blue and back. The finish is comparable to any custom set and I've been asked if it was a custom set before. The shell hardware is also extremely nice, I don't think I will ever own another drumset that doesn't have diecast rims because of this set. The black nickel finish on the hardware is also very easy to keep clean and doesn't attract fingerprints like chrome does.
Sound:
Very versatile, I can tune the drums anyway I like to and they still sound good. They are relatively easy to tune and stay in tune fairly well. If you do a fair bit of tom rim-shots then you may need to invest in luglocks. The snare is very nice with a good solid crack and nice smooth overtones. The kick drum is to die for, everyone jokes me about how tiny it is but when it gets mic'd up it blows away all the 24" kicks in the house. The toms are nice and loud, they cut well during shows and are very melodic in tone.
Ease of Use:
If you know how to tune your drums and set them up with the right heads to get the sound you want you will love these drums, and it will be very easy to make your ears happy. The snare and kick are easy to tune and stay in tune quite well. The toms are tricky but if you know what you're doing you'll be alright. I find that tuning all the toms' reso heads about an octave or 2 higher than the batter heads brings out a nice note and not too much of an overtone.
Support:
I've not needed any support with these drums so I couldn't tell you. But that's also a good thing that it wasn't needed.
Overall:
I do not think that I will be getting another set for a longtime, and when I do I'm not planning on getting rid of this one. This set is now my primary set and it will be that way for a long time. I don't think I need to elaborate on anything else or I'd be repeating what I stated earlier in this review.
