"Great Value, but performance dependent upon your Guitar and Amp."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
This product is very nice, but really seems to be based on Fender Pickups. I prefer Gibson Humbuckings, which is why I assume some Sounds in/on the RP250 don't "sound" right.
Having said that: for $150, this is a very sweet product. My Gibson SG & Marshall amp may not be able to get all the true sounds as advertised, but for the price, I get enough of them to make this product a great value.
I wanted the "Accoustic" sound, but on my setup it still sounds very electric.
Lots of Blues, Rock, and Metal sounds work for me tho.
Feature:
There are many setting comginations that can be used to create a "signature sound." I already found one that blows my mind, based on my own individual way of playing.
It also helps you electronicaly tune your guitar. That's always nice on a gig!
Ease of Use:
Documentation could be a lot better. I used to write manuals for software; I am a software guru, and a sofware programmer -- so as a guitar player I know this manual doesn't seem to be written by players. All the "tricks" and "insights" are missing.
Quality:
Seems to be built very well.
Value:
Despite what I see as shortcomings, this product is great for the price. A smart player can squeeze and incredible amount of value from this thing :-)
If you don't have a sound machine, buy it. Regardless of you personal setup, you can't buy the individual pieces for this price.
The Wow Factor:
Very well designed (I'm a computer guy, so this thing makes a lot of sense, imo.)
Sex Appeal??? I haven't kissed it yet :-) -- (Although I hear it calling to me, lol).
Overall:
For the price, and outstanding value. May not deliver everything advertised for your system -- but delivers more than enough, regardless, imo.
