"Versatile, reliable, everything I need in a bass wah."
Feature:Features are straightforward and good. Q and volume knobs help dial in a wide range of sounds, although they could be bigger and marked somewhere other than the bottom. When engaging and disengaging the pedal, you'll hear a short delay before your regular signal comes back in, but this can be remedied by going into the battery compartment and turning a little brown knob all the way back. I just wished this came with the adapter; after paying 100 for it, I didn't want to shell out any more.
Quality:
Seems to be fine; it's metal and looks like it could withstand pretty much anything. It'd be nicer if the Q and volume dials were bigger and metal instead of plastic, but that's it. It's very reliable, no need of a backup. I'd definitely tour with this.
Value:
If you'll use this a lot, it's worth the price. If you'll only use this occasionally or don't care as much about tone, than look elsewhere. 100 isn't too much, but I wouldn't pay any more.
Desirability:
I personally think most pedals are pretty cool looking (except for Boss). This doesn't have any bells and whistles, just plain white, but I still think it looks cool.
Sound:
Sound is the best I've heard from any wah on bass, probably because of the custom Q and high frequency-only application. I can use this on almost anything and still hold down the bass line, plus with the Q and volume settings I can meet any need, from a subtle embellishment to harsh quacks. With judicious use of this you can also use it as a tone control on crack; flooring it gives you a treble boost that works well for high-register runs, and depressing it only a little gives you a massive bass boost that can make heavy phrases hit you like a ton of bricks. I've had mine for about 6 months and haven't heard it affecting my tone when off, either, the bypass seems to work well. Overall, versatile and high-quality tone. I rated it an 9 because nothing's perfect and it's possible to over-use this, that's it.
Ease of Use:
Once you figure out how to engage and disengage it effectively and use the Q and volume right, it's very very easy, nothing more to be said. Putting it at the end of your effect chain gives you a much more pronounced tone (recommended), whereas at the beginning of the chain is much more subtle.
Support:
No idea, so I rated it in the middle.
Overall:
This thing simply kicks ass; has great tone, very versatile, reliable, seems like it'll last forever. If it was lost or stolen, I'd definitely buy another (after having the thief killed, of course). Dunlop did it right with this one.
