"One of the Best firewire card around"
Sound:
Sounds quality is good, very loud and powerful. It sounded great with keybaord, guitar and drum machines.
Feature:
I use it to practice my guitar, I have it connected to my Mac and Windows based latop at the same time. I ran 3 drum machines on it, a keyboard module, and turn table, keyboard and a mic. The Microphone is the one that gives me issues; the sound is too low to be practical. I might consider getting a preamp.
Ease of Use:
Very easy to use, plug and play; at home both on the Mac and PC. I used it with all version of wndows and Mac without worrying about drivers version. I might say it would be great if they could upgrade the driver to ad or activate more features
Quality:
Quality is fine, I would like more base control though mostly when playing MP3, for instrumentation no issue. Consmetically it looks great and impressive.
Manufacturer Support:
Very good support. I blew up one of the firewire port due to my own carelessness. They repaired it without costing me a dine.
Value:
I love it, it is good for people who has more than one instrument. Having 6 stereo input and 6 sterea out is great. That is a total of 24 ports to play with.
The Wow Factor:
Well, unless I friend it or an operating systems comes along and they are not puting a working driver for it. I do not have any reason to part of it. The draw back is using it on skype or video conferences, the Mac or PC has issues synching to them. Sounds gets disconnected or cannot be heard. But it was not made for that. That is why I used my normal sound card for these things
Overall:
Thge main reason for buying that card was the generous 12 ports input and 12 ports output. Sound quality good, I had it for over 5 years and it never failed me. I used it every day for all audio used.
