"Solid guitar, worth WAAAY more than you pay for this guitar"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
Great sound on mine, nice overall balanced tone that should only get better with age with the solid woods. The electronics seem solid and give a very natural amplified sound unlike some thin sounding acoustic-electrics that I've heard. The guitar has a nice dynamic range depending on how it's played from very soft but full, to booming when you're really strumming.
Feature:
Everything is really solid, the pickup system is nice and the phase switch does a pretty good job. It's lo nice that it takes small lithium batteries that I don't have to change every two weeks like 9 volt batteries.
Ease of Use:
Just sit down and play it and it does the rest.
Quality:
No blemishes, this is really a nice looking guitar, feels good in the hands. The only complain I have is a little fret buzz on the D string around the third fret. But, this is to be expected until I get it set up properly with my choice of strings as opposed to the factory strings and respective setup. This guy is solid woods so it will be a little more sensitive to temperature changes than some other instruments. Wood moves, man.
Manufacturer Support:
Called to get the factory string gauge info. Gibson number, US based Gibson support 24/7. Awesome.
Value:
You're not gonna beat this guitar for the price. When looking for a nice solid wood mid range guitar I played a lot, including but not limited to, lower end Martin's, used Gibsons, Epiphone Masterbuilt, Taylors series etc. This guitar matched or beat them all in sound and playability.
The Wow Factor:
Feels cool, sounds great. Nice finish with a vintage vibe, but no worn out.
Overall:
I hope to have this one for life and pass it on to my kids.
