"if your not sure --- get these"

Quality:
no problem so far as least

Value:
amazing deal - these things sound as good as some of the much more expensive models ive tried. for the price you cant beat them

Desirability:
its a simple normal looking monitor. there also kind of big - and heavy - but i personally like that - reminds me of the old days when everything weighed a ton! haha

Sound:
just got a pair of these speakers - the response is flat as a pancake - just what you want to have in a monitor - the bass is a little lacking in the thump department - but other than that these things a SWEET!

Overall:
i plan to owe these little babies as long as they will have me... even when i upgrade ill keep them around the studio - or at least the house

"A great sounding, quality speaker at a musician's price point."

Feature:
I like the bare bones approach Event uses. No special compensatory EQ trinketts, just a input sensitivity control pot. They are nice and clinical looking, almost bordering on industrial in appearance. The drivers sound very good, and can provide a nice loud volume level without distortion ruining the sound.

Quality:
These guys are pretty hefty. I like heavy audio products. That feeling of weight gives me a feeling of confidence in the product. I would expect these boxes to last me a good long time. Everything was good right out of the box.

Value:
I think $500 is not a lot of money considering the sound these boxes put out and the quality components used. I'm not going to 'hype' anyone by saying the TR8's are worth twice their price. That's just not realistic. They are very good sounding, affordable reference monitors.

Desirability:
Again, they're very industrial in appearance. I wouldn't rate them as sexy looking at all. They are a no nonsense design. I love the matte black finish. I researched them and I chose them as the best sounding alternative out there.

Sound:
I have owned the 20/20bas cabinets and I would compare the TR8's favorably to them. The frequency response seems to be very flat across the board. They seem to handle everything from Rock to Classical with aplomb. The bass response could be a bit tighter for my ears, but it is more than adequate to make important low end mixing decisions. I would trust these monitors for mixing just about any kind of music.

Support:
Haven't need it and don't expect to ever need support.

Overall:
I expect to be mixing on these monitors for years to come. I just don't see how speaker technology can make that many advances in the next few years for me to feel as though I've outgrown them. These speakers allow me to hear everything in my mixes. They afford me the reliability and quality to be able to make mixes that translate to virtually any system.
