"Cut's through when you need it."

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
Bought this amp several months ago after hearing it at a club. Was suprised at the way it cut through everything. My Strat sounds great through the clean channel.
    Feature:
Has the foot switch which I don't use. Wish there was tremlo with this amp. The reverb is weak but still has a nice affect.
    Ease of Use:
I think it is a great buy for the money. A Fender is a Fender no matter what. I use a standard Cry Baby now and then and the quality punches through. Nice!
    Quality:
I worry some about the speakers. I play blues and so far it's clean, clear sound gets attention. Again it cuts through when you need it to.
    Manufacturer Support:
The techs. at Fender are easy to work with. Had an issue with my Strat being noisy and the guy took me through a trouble shooting session on the phone till I found a dirty spot in my tone pot. Sone contact cleaner did the trick. Thanks again Rick.
    Value:
    Can't beat the price!
    The Wow Factor:
Some what heavy. Nice looking amp. and the sound gets the feet tapping. I am pleased with this amp. Very pleased.

Where's the tremlo Fender? I'm happy so far. Won't be looking just yet. Get lots of compliments on the sound.

    "INCREDIBLE COMBO AMP FOR METAL!!!"

    Sound:
This amp is absolutely awesome. Was looking for a 50-60 Watt combo amp at guitar center. Found this. The tonal quality is awesome and it has plenty of crunch for metal. LOVE IT!!!

On-board DSP would've been nice. That is a different model.

"Incredible power, crisp clean tones, tough as nails."

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
I bought this amp 2 years ago. This amp produces an extremely crisp, clean sound when used without pedals or effects. I think some players criticize this amp because it doesn't 'cover up' your guitar...it enhances exactly what you are playing.
    Feature:
There aren't many features on this amp, apart from the usual array of gains, mid's et cet. It does have a foot switch which works well.
    Ease of Use:
Again, the sound is clean and crisp. If you wantto deviate to fuzz, wah, et cet you'll have to add pedals et cet, as is the case with most any amp.
    Quality:
Extremely well made. This is a Fender 'import', made in China, but made as well as any USA amp I have used in the past 10 years. The power of this amp (100 watts, 2 12's)is incredible. I wouldn't push it past 4 without some serious ear protection. If you like solid state amps with no buzz's, shorts or other problems, you'll love thos one. Add pedals and effects if you want.
    Manufacturer Support:
After 2 years never needed support and don't think I'll ever have to. This amp is rock solid.
    Value:
    100% worth the price.
    The Wow Factor:
It's definately a 'guy' amp. Sraightforward, clean looking, rock solid. Makes you love Fender.
    Overall:
Had it for 2 years, looks and works as well as the day I bought it. I expect to be satisfied with it as long as I own it. I will add some pedals and effects for variety's sake, but power was what I was looking for and this amp provides more power than I thought possible.

"Fender Front Man (FM) 212R- Portable bomb shelter."

    Sound:
It is pretty much as good as a stock solid state circuit will ever sound for the cheaper amp. When I first heard it I honestly thought it was some new tube amp, but no. I play a lot of different styles of music and, to be honest, I would prefer a tube amp but I just don't have the payola, you dig? I have recorded with this amp, played live with this amp, practiced at home with this amp and rehearsed with this amp. It is suitable for every application. I play it straight in, too. No effects or anything. It seriously kicks ass, and it IS very loud.
    Feature:
It has your basic stuff. Excellent clean channel. I don't want to hear another person whinge about the clean either. I've pushed it right up to 10 and its crystal clear. The drive channel is also good. pushed it up five. I wouldn't go much further because it is so damn loud.It has a nice spring reverb which I use all the time. I don't know what people say about it not working. I have never experienced any faults with the reverb, EVER. Not even the RCAs coming loose in the back. It rock solid.
    Ease of Use:
I think the amp speaks for itself. I bet they've trained mice to operate it! I can get any sounde from it: a nice mild overdrive for blues, a hard clipping sound for grunge etc. The clean channel provides perfect tone for those who are into that.
    Quality:
This amp IS a tank. Nuclear war? Stuff the bomb shelter, I'll just tie this amp on my back. You could throw this amp off a building from about a hundred metres and I am sure that the structre of it would be intact. I am only worried about things stabbing the speaker cones from the back.
    Manufacturer Support:
Service. Why would you need that?
    Value:
    It was cheap!
    The Wow Factor:
It is pretty bland. If you take my advice, get an old tartan blanket, cut it up and glues onto it for good looks.
    Overall:
I might buy a new amp when I win the lotto, keeping in mind that the new amp would be made of solid gold insulated with transparent plastic.

    "love it"

    Sound:
sounds great...gotta love the footswitch, the clean channel sounds almost like youre playing an acoustic, and soundsd even better when you really do play an accoustic throuh it. the distortion channels are pretty good, but its a fender so of course the clean channel is gonna sound way better, it really cuts through at even the lower volumes. i personally like to run pedals (effects loop!!!) the reverb is a bit too intense at all but the lowest settings for me.
    Feature:
love the included footswitch and velcro in the cabnet to hold it in place during transportation. also the "more gain" channel sounds pretty nice, but alot of feedback between notes, so youll either need a nice distortion stompbox or a killswitch. i really like the mid contour switch on the distortion channels
    Ease of Use:
simple amp, not too dificult to figure out. sounds great with a bass or acoustic too
    Quality:
Its a fender...of course its made well!!!
    The Wow Factor:
    very sexy amp

    "Wonderful Amp!!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
I have the FM212R stacked on an old Yamaha G100B-212 from the 70s and I use my Boss GT-6 board through this amp for a clean chorus sound, and a Digitech GNX3 through the Yamaha with some green distortion. It is my sound and I am very pleased with this product!
    Feature:
No comment. Just reverb, but I use outboard effects so I don't need it.
    Quality:
I am 41. This amp will outlive me.
    Manufacturer Support:
no comment. In over 35 years of playing, I have never needed support from Fender.
    Value:
$300 for a SOLID solid state amp with a hundred watts would cause me to wonder about the quality. But with 'Fender' on the grille, nothing to worry about.
    Overall:
Excellent product. At 1/4 volume, it will rattle every dish in the house. It compliments my Yamaha very well. Only 1 thing I don't like....I would much prefer the gray grille cloth.

Has reverb and a mid contour for different distortion tones.

    Sound:
This fender is great! It still falls short of older fenders, but I love it. It has a great distortion for anyone who likes 80s/90s punk rock. The clean channel stinks though. :^
    Feature:
Well as for features, this amp isnt for someone who likes a lot of effects. i like simple amps like this. Reverb is great though. Dont like the black grill cloth. :(
    Quality:
This amp is great. Maybe in 20 or so years it will be another fender classic. :)
    Manufacturer Support:
    Never needed support.
    Value:
good, but i mean fender prices their products a little high, so what do you excpect.
    The Wow Factor:
What the hell? Amps dont have sex appeal??! Lust??!! I dont think so. The black is nice, but i would rather have it silver or brown, with the grill cloth beige.
    Overall:
I have had this product for about a month. I play in a local band, and this works great. Maybe if traveling across the country, it might stink, but good now. the distortion-great/the clean-stinks. If you like distortion buy the amp. If you like clean still buy the amp.

    Sound:
ugh, the clean is horrible, but nothing a Digitech pedal cant fix!....the Overdrive I think is accually perty good....my say in this.....if you already own it, just get a multi effects pedal to fix the sound, it makes a hell of a difference as in more of a tube spunk in it, the overdrive sounds somewhat tube, as i somwhat dont make any scence...

Reverb isint too good, ive reviewd this amp before, when i thought it was awesome and I when i havent even heard tube amps...O yeah, dont use the mid scoop thing, doesent sound too swell

"Don't be fooled! This is not a "value" purchase!!!"

    Sound:
The main problem with this amp is if you want to use it outside of your bedroom - I can't see why you would want a 100 watt amp to play in your bedroom in the first place - however, if you put the clean channel volume past 5 then the amp thins out quite badly and is just a clarity free mess.
    Feature:
These are almost the worst features I have ever come across. The footswtitch is a real joke and jumps before it kicks in.
    Quality:
The amp is very flimsy and has been back in the shop to stop it crackling, fading in and out and buzzing all the time on the clean channel
    Value:
Poor - it pretends to be something it's not and the power of the amp belies the quality.
    The Wow Factor:
It looks pretty good and if you squint you could pretend you own a real twin!!
    Overall:
Don't bother! The amp is more problems than it's worth and although such a high powered combo at that price by Fender is appealing the quality of the product is NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO GIG UNDER ANY CONDITIONS.
