"It's a Fender"
Feature:This bass has a smaller body than a standard p-bass. It will not fit into a fender case.
Quality:
it's a little light for a p-bass. It' is a solid bass that balances well when you play it strapped on.
Value:
It's a Fender. Parts are made In Cali. and it's assembled in Mexico. It's a fair price for a really good bass. Fender used to offer an all american made version for twice the price.
Desirability:
It looks awesome. Black or Red with the gold pickguard.....very hot.
Sound:
I own the orig. P-Bass Special without the active pickups. It sounds awesome. I don't know why the put active electronics in it. I hope they didn't ruin it.

Fender is on there game
Overall:
I've owned this bass for some time (I got it when fender first put it out). If it got stolen I would replace it. I use it for recording and live gigs. It's one of my 3 main basses

Sound:
I like the active electronics for the simple reason that on a passive p or jazz, you have to raise the action so high just to get the tone you need. With active elec. you have the tone and dont lose the playability from raising the action.

"What You've Been Looking For"
Quality:This bass will last you forever.
Value:
It's worth it.
Desirability:
How many other basses come with a gold pickguard?
Sound:
This is the best bass I've ever played, and I've played a few....It sounds better live than in recording. It sounds very sharp and almost trebly in my recording experiences. But I've had mine for a year and I'm still at the point where I'm afraid to get a scratch on it because it's still that perfect.
