"Fender P-Bass"

Sound:

The sound is quite excellent. It's the classic Fender P-Bass growl. The best way to describe it is to actually play one and then you will know what that means. It's very rich and quite loud.

Feature:

Just the pickup and a couple of knobs. That's all I need. No damned batteries! I usually tweak my amps for tone anyway.

Ease of Use:

I think the Fender P-Bass was actually designed to fit me in complete form. It was like Leo somehow knew me 30 years before I even picked up the bass and designed it for me. I know that's ridiculous, but it just feels perfect in every way.

Quality:

It's a Fender. Take them or leave them, they are usually top notch. Don't forget, often you will have to have an instrument set up correctly, since they might not be in a store. This can effect the way you perceive the instrument.

Manufacturer Support:

I've owned several pieces of Fender gear and never contacted them. I suppose that's good support in itself.

Value:

Of course it would be nice if it was cheaper (like anything else,) but I'd say it's worth the money. Fenders have a good resale value, too.

The Wow Factor:

I think that's rather disburbing to lust a piece of gear, but I do love to play it at every opportunity. It is meant for me to play.

Overall:

I've owned and played several basses in the 18 years that I've been playing and I would say the Fender P-Bass is the one on top. I used to own a '50s reissue P-Bass (the Japanese one's from the early '90s) and it was the other instrument that felt and sounded perfect to me. Like an idiot, I traded that bass for other equipment and I definately won't make that mistake again. I feel you can't go wrong with any P-Bass, just make sure they are set up right.

It's a standard so there aren't any speacial features.

Quality:

Fender, Fender, Fender. The BEST.

When I was buying this the guys at the store weren't coming to me!!!

Value:

If your going to get a bass, get this one, I think the price is JUST right.

The Wow Factor:

I have seen some more interesting colors and head styles, but this will do. Espeacialy the light blue, If your trying to get girls.

I am always satisfied with the P-bass, it never lets me down.

"try it using rotosound flatwound strings smoooth for that non wooly sound."

Sound:

1 rotate volume to 55%to 65% increase high freq treb by same 2 take 10 to 30 paces away from marshall amp top and stack 3 crank up controls volume tone on your fender 4select your fave stranglers bass riff eg/hanging around/princess of the streets/sleazy /peaches etc etc. 5 begin.

Feature:

robust yet funky

Ease of Use:

dont have to be accomplished performer to play a fender you play it sounds right its a precision instrument. y ou play it sounds srtingy then its you.

Quality:

it will last forever even when you give up playing it will still be worth a fortune.machine heads neck body pick ups knobs frets and plastic. all make this instrument enviromentaly recycliable.

Manufacturer Support:

yes technical support is always availiable in the usa and by quality service engineers in the uk specializing in audio electrical wiring spectrum analysis freq response you name it its covered cosmetic defects.

Value:

its a bargain are you sure their not stolen.

its a fender precision bass sex appeal just perspires from this iconic long scale bass ask anyone .

Overall:

i need not compare its the bass that other manufactures have attempted to emulate for years.it is the standard to which all other bass guitars are measured. and they dont even come close. that includes style feel playability it just is perfection .

use a peavey amp-only use 10" speakers

Quality:

the 10 refers to pre cbs versions post cbs i would give an 8

good value but have seen a little cheaper elsewear
