"Best fretless for the money available"
Feature:Included a cheesy gig bag; the truss rod allen wrench was included and used right away. Great value.
Quality:
Great finish (black) and set up tolerably well from the factory. Inclusion of high-quality flat would strings a real plus. A good aftermarket bridge (or standard vintage type with knurled saddles) is a must, as is the eventual replacement of the stock tuning keys. No need for a backup unless you need a fretted instrument for certain songs. Having owned american, japanese and MIM basses, I was blown away by the qualityof this latest run of Fender basses.
Value:
Excdellent value, and a few mods make it comparable to any USA made instrument.
Desirability:
Very practical and affordable but a great platform to learn fretless without spending a lot.
Sound:
The '06 represents a serious upgrade in overall quality (I have a fretted MIM from a few years ago; smooth neck with markers make the transition to fretless easy. Pickups are surprisingly good for stock, though I did replace stock bridge with a Gotoh which increased stability and overall sustain. A really fine instrument.
Ease of Use:
I've played for nearly thirty-five years but playing a fretless in a large rock and soul band took some adjusting. It's worth the initial humbling so stay with it and perfect your ear for intonation.
Support:
Never dealt with Fender but their website contained useful info on adjusting truss rod and intonation.
Overall:
A great addition to my colection

"This base freakin' ROCKS!"
Feature:It came with a free gig bag, but no strap.
Quality:
I own 5 bass guitars and this ones construction and material outshines the rest.
Value:
I got this bass on sale. For 329.00 I got what I consider at least a 600.00 bass.
Desirability:
Its a chick magnet !
Sound:
This bass rocks. Its my first fretless and it is strung with flat wound strings. The tones and slides are beyond parallel.
Support:
Have never needed service.
Overall:
This bass is gonna stick with me for a life time. The day I got it I played it all night long and into the morning before it would let me go.
