    "A Smart Product,A Smart Buy"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
The size of this product is amasing. All needed cables are included. The VIP feature I feel is a waste of money. They could have put that money into something else for the system. Some people forget about the compartment in the back with the mic and cable. If I use this mic,I can play my acoustic through 3 lines. This is a smart product,a smart buy. I was most pleased with the feedback rejection feature. My mike would not begain to feedback until (after) 75 percent of power. Also I had to break down and setup more than four times because of slight rain and then a thunder storm. It takes less than a minute to unplug, take the speakers off the nearby stands and pack up the PD150 if done quickly. The EQ is between good and OK.It would be better if the nobs had notches you could feel. I recharge the battery by putting it on the front floor of my car and running a booster cable from under the hood on through the passenger window to the floor. There the battery is charged on the way home and or on the way back to the next street performance.I wish Fender would pick back up their efforts to help Passport holders have portable power.

    Quality:
I like the looks and the handle. It's easy to open and pack up.it's safe in the rain when closed. It's compact and tight. I bought this item with plans for the future.I think the PD150 is durable and will last.

    Value:
This is not only a quality sound product but a smart product. It is top line sound made practical for quick set up and easy travel for professionals.Fender may be the only people putting so much effort into making a pro PA system with easy travel in mind. The feedback rejection feature alone is good for my money but I'm also getting digital reverb with bose speakers and other goodies.

    Desirability:
The look is neat and not too noticeable. That's smart for travel. It's really an item for you to be proud of,when you look at it packed up so neat and small and you know when you grab the handle you'll be holding a powerful PA System that you can go out and make money with.Just looking at it(it's still honeymoon) makes me want to work. This product could cause problems with a spouse.Right now I wanna be with my Passport eight or ten hours a day.

    Sound:
I ordered the PD150 after reading much about it online. This is a smart buy.I don't think there can be a better deal for someone doing acoustic guitar solos. You can tell a lot of thought went into making this system. So far the PD150 gives me the best quality sound I've ever had from my Fender steel string acoustic electric rigged with a condencer mic.I use imputs 1 and 2 and a mufler on the sound hole.I get no feedback even after blasting the bose speakers at about 75 persent with the speakers on stands behind me less than 5 feet away. The reverb is by far above average. It reminds me of the Adobe Audition. The EQ is good. I did set up twice at the beach on the pier to practice and play for tips.I was told later by the police that the sound was above the limits.I asked them if I can turn it down. "No! You can't have no PA system out here". Be sure to get the stands. That will really get the sound out there and give you a real pro look. I powered up with a Marine/RV Deep Cycle Battery to a Power ON Bord 500 Watt DC to AC Power Inverter. This set up did give me a slight buzz sound. My 175 minute.@90 AH battery(maybe more than I need)is over 50lbs.So I had to buy a convertable hand truck. If you set up on a pier, set up over the sand never over the water.I don't know yet about the sound inside at a gig,but on the beach one man told me yea it was loud.Again,I don't think you can do much better for acoustic guitar or solo acts. But if you need to play with a drummer don't take a chance with this one but go with the PD250 for more power. Also be aware of the pins if you buy the Fender Stands for the speakers. The pins rattle so loud, you will think that you have speaker problems.I thought of wrapping the pins with tape but the speakers are to light to even need the pins.

    Ease of Use:
Like anything else, you have to learn it.Yet it's easy to set up and control every time.Be sure the VIP is off if you hear the sound go down or you will think you got a defect in your system.

    Support:
The fender people were friendly and helpful. They are the ones who told me about the Marine Cycle Battery and the inverter.I gave that info to my auto machanic.Fender also gave me the exact date my product was manufactured, June 8, 2008.I also regestered online.

    Overall:
I plan to keep an eye on fender for upgrades to their Passports.I hope to work this one like a mule.To me Passports are now my standard gear.If I lost this one I would replace it and or have the PD250.I looked at Pevey and Yamaha potable PA sytems online.I saw a Rolland in a store.I went with the PD150 because of the size, the names(Fender/Bose),the feedback rejection and the reviews.I don't like the looks of or feel of the nobs, but that's petty. Also It would make this product even more easy to use if the power button was in the front,as the product was not made with the sound man in mind but the performing musician.
